Gus definitely has selective hearing when I tell him he’s just a bit in the way
This counts as living dangerously these days (salad kit. I don’t live near the outbreak states, so I’ve deemed it an ok risk when presented with a clearance salad kit)
forgot to post proof from this morning of me being a mean horse trainer. It’s too hot/humid for strenuous work so I made Finn do his least favorite thing in the world for 20 whole minutes: walking over raised poles. (it’s good exercise for his back muscles that won’t make him sweat or overheat)
Every morning we drag his feed tub to the inside part of his stall to fill it with hay. And every morning he pulls it back outside along with half his breakfast
I tried to buy myself some time away from my clingy office mate with a tasty tuna snack. But he likes cuddles better than he likes food
Should have picked a different color veggie just to make my plate more interesting 😂 (but I was just choosing based on what frozen veggie was open already)
Buying this was a mistake because it is unreasonably tasty and there’s not even a price-based deterrent to keep me from buying it more often than is good for me. I legit hope it’s a seasonal offering only 😂
Sometimes the answer to “what’s for dinner?” presents itself in the form of a discount take and bake pizza (I slice and bake one piece at a time and stash the rest in the freezer for later. Also means not using the oven in this friggin heat)
Now I’m having a perfectly normal (😂) lunch that’s really just a way to ingest a bunch of salt to make up for the heat
Did I just make a special trip to the hardware store for a new mister for my favorite former feral because his mister stopped working? Yes. Yes I did. He’s in the cool zone again now with a new mister (I so ordered new nozzles for the broken mister so can swap out next time)
Sadly no advice, just my sympathy because I know how much that sucks. Gus says he would yell at your pain until it went away if that worked
I often think my favorite formally feral cat isn’t the brightest (for example, he hasn’t leaned from dozens of hisses and swats that his sister isn’t interested in being buddies), but he has at least figured out that the mister I bought is good for staying cool on heat advisory days!
Kitten’s best friend (my first TNR cat who is a lot less feral now) has been hanging out in the yard all afternoon probably wondering his little shadow is 😿. She’ll be back tomorrow, bubs!
I’m sad not to be at the DDA meeting in person but so glad I can watch along from home! Gus is glad too even if he’s a bit tired from all the desk work today
I have been super into lazy meals lately and this is my current favorite. Black bean tacos with pickled onions and coleslaw mix for crunchiness. So tasty. Made the mistake of making them with leftover chicken last week and the black beans are so much better
The only upside to it being summer is nice produce. Almost makes up for feeling drained after running a single errand today even though i was only outside of the A/C for the walk from car to store and back….
After an entire morning spent on zoom , I decided I deserved a fancy sandwich-based lunch. (What makes it fancy is it isn’t a pb&j and I have actual sides)
