My broth game is now on point. This beef rib soup is filled with veg. I’ve been so pleased with my cooking lately.
I’m missing my old car, the ford transit connect XLT. One of the favorites out of all the vehicles I’ve owned. I went looking to see if I could find a good used one but alas, no such luck.
Once C-SPAN starts putting ‘Substack Author’ in the lower third it’s only a matter of time before we get ‘Guy With A Lot Of Opinions On LinkedIn.’ Heather Cox Richardson has a PhD from Harvard and has written six books but sure, ‘Substack Author’ is the one that made the chyron
A health start to dinner! I’m trying to refine meals that require less than 10 min of active cooking time that are well balanced. Deciding between 1/4 cup rice or spelt to go in this also.
This botanical garden I went to today in Florida was beautiful. What a vibe. I could bring a book here and read all day!
Book scanning nook is up and running! I’m excited to really up my learning efficiency and get to where I wanna be….fast!
Check this likely ai-slopped menu out: The word nerd in me is usually suspicious of menus that pile on the adjectives like this. Somewhere along the way, “venison soup” became venison demi-glace onion soup, and apparently the beaver has now been officially certified as “well-cleavered.”
My first fursona, an Utah raptor, I identified with because I wanted to have the qualities I saw in the animal like being a part of a pack and having instincts and intelligence. I identified with things that I was lacking. As I learnt to love myself I adopted my hyena ‘sona which is just me!

I’m seeing the missiles fly overseas. But I’ve seen violence glorified in games and on tv so it doesn’t really hit, what I’m seeing. But then they evade, find their target, then the fire, the explosion. I presume people die that I can not see. All I can do is wonder, what is coming for me?
Saw Bugonia, it was SO GOOD, excellent movie that is a catching commentary on our present hierarchal society. Dripping with artistic style, I’m so impressed.
I’m forced to learn what leaving old fuel in a machine does to a carburetor.
Here’s a quote I think about quite often after reading it in a work of Gadamer’s. I thought I’d share it here as it reminds us all to live authentically as ourselves.
I keep seeing this Herzog narration come up more frequently these days and I feel like people romanticize this and fundamentally misunderstand THAT THE PENGUIN WILL DIE as it wanders away towards the mountain. Existence is tough but we need to stick together to survive.
How I’m beating my depression tonight: a nice solo dinner out with a good book! Feeling great now after a tough start to the week.
