Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (Replay) A fine-enough tactics game with a great story in a tidy, thirty-hour package. It stirs the imagination with its soft political intrigue and a care for its own fictional history. Great cast, too. Love Soren. Love Ike. Love these queers and the Greil gang.

Mewgenics Got this game gifted to me (by someone who isn't on here otherwise I wouldn't even post it), and it's not for me. I could probably prattle on about QoL things I think it could use, but honestly it would be disingenuous to say any of those are my problem. Just don't care for it.
Hoppers First half's good, second half's a riot. I heard that this movie had some surprisingly decent political messaging for a Disney movie—I appreciated the relatable expression of fatigue and helplessness at the midpoint. Did not know how insanely funny it would get though. Refreshing from Pixar.
Project Hail Mary (2026 movie) Outside of a few awkward tonal concessions in its opening scenes for pacing, this was great! I prefer the book's scientific problem-solving angle to the increased comedic, buddy duo spin of the film, but both are fun. Movie Rocky is adorable. He's such a little guy.
Slay the Spire 2 (Early Access) My oasis away from AI-celebratory work meetings. It's a game that conspires with the God of Misfortune to trample my day, and I come back for more and during every break I get. Fantastic. Even better now with co-op. The most fun I've had playing a 2026 game so far.
Yoshi and the Mysterious Book demo This was... Much better than I expected! I'm not sure if it would keep my attention for a full game, but turning Yoshi into a weird little animal discovery puzzle platformer is pretty inventive. I had a lot of fun. Might check it out in the future.
The Switch 2 All I wanted from my Switch was for it to stop having joycon drift, and to have a charging port on the top instead of the bottom. Jury's still out on that first one, but hey, they fixed the second. Don't know why they made this so heavy, though. Maybe I should lift weights.
Star Fox (2026) Barring some minor issues, this is the best it's felt to pilot an Arwing, and the best official characterisation of the crew. Velan Studios were likely given a restrictive assignment, and I'm delighted with what they turned in. There. I did 'my part'. Now show me what you've got.
Rhythm Heaven: Groove (demo) My life feels too busy for games like these. Even though I like them. I'm the reason these don't sell well. Anyway, delightful demo. I would love to play the full thing one day.
Dragon Quest XI, 'Act III' A wish-fulfillment fantasy that betrays the beautiful tone of its ending. It drags your neck across 60 more hours of the same dungeons and bosses, while undoing emotional beats from the original story. Gameplay is a slog—you either break its systems or die. Dreadful.
Dragon Quest XI A somber tale of love, loss and perseverance, rich in moments that genuinely pull at the heart strings. It's by no means perfect; the story shows its rough edges after 20 hours, but it's still a wonderful, cozy adven--hold the phone, where did the credits go. The game's still going?

Still in disbelief about the Casino boss monster that's obviously someone's fetish that got snuck into Dragon Quest XI. Like why did you make him so incredibly based
