Join us on Aug 9th for our annual community cookout & potluck event.. This summer our organizing has been challenging and rewarding, especially for our volunteers, supporters, and members in our communities.
There is more work to be done, get involved, and get organized. It will take all of us!
This is a huge victory and are proud of the council members who voted in the interest of the people. We look forward to working with council as they continue to work on their zoning ordinance.
While in Columbia Borough, council voted to pass Councilman Ethan Byer’s drafted ordinance to rezone data centers from light business to industrial which removes the McGinness property as a possible use for data centers.
We are committed to continuing to push for stronger protections against data centers and working with council to ensure public involvement and trust is built.
At city council we packed the room demanding for stronger protections against data centers. Council ultimately passed the zoning ordinance, that has weak language and no enforcement protections, we know council can do better.
Organized communities can and do win. Yesterday, the Lancaster Community showed up both in the City & in Columbia.

Our priority is changing the special exception into a conditional use, because it gives our City Council more power to regulate every data center project, it holds our elected officials accountable, and gives our community more power to have a say.
🚨LANC CITY🚨 The moment we have been waiting for. We have been fighting for a comprehensive and strong zoning ordinance since the end of last year and now the city is having a reading and hearing of the proposed ordinance.
(1/3) If there was ever any doubt we're living in a housing crisis, the new property tax assessments show that Lancaster County is becoming even less affordable to live in, and these increases will hit Columbia and Lancaster City the hardest. While housing affordability affects...
