These boxes usually arrive ice cold, with the meat at least partially frozen. Today the ice packs are only cool to the touch. The hush puppies feel almost warm. Pork and cole slaw feel almost room temperature.
This flag was my grandfather’s. We had it flown over the Arizona memorial for him. It now sits on the top shelf of my desk. Other people may view the American flag and what it means differently but for me, it is a symbol of what the United States claims it stands for.
