Important update: ALL KNITTING DONE! 37 days for my 4-day KAL (🤣). As Marie says, it’s not really about doing it in 4 days, but seeing that it doesn’t have to take forever, either. Still lots to do - weaving in, blocking, buttons. Has been fun & did bring back my mojo! And, gorgeous cardigan! 🧶

One of the joys of #knitting/ yarn is its flexibility & sustainability. Show me your well-loved, mended, altered knits 🧶. Or maybe you frogged & re-knit something entirely new! Salty Air Tee, too hot for warm weather; added 3/4 sleeves & some body length. My first big alteration. #ShowMeYourKnits

One of surest ways for me to stall on a cardigan is…buttons (finding/ choosing/ buying/ sewing). Took opportunity of day in the city to visit favourite button shop, which never disappoints. Like the yarn, they’re sometimes silver, sometimes purple-ish. Modelled on neck band as no button bands yet…

Good morning knitters ☀️! We start each new year with the prompt that started it all: show me your SHAWLS! You always amaze me with this one & I add a million patterns to my list! Important update: SLEEVE! Day 28 & we’re back on track! Still took some thinking to get in to the groove on the sleeve. Also picked up for the neck band to understand yarn usage. 🧶 Didn’t make it in 4 days (obvs), but will be v close to just a month…for a whole lace cardigan! #WatermarkCardigan

This is from Saturday, day 16, just under 43 hours knitting time (42:54). End of the 2nd ball, about 2/3 (-ish?) of the length needed for the body. Most things will be determined by how much yarn I have, so switching to a sleeve now. A quick try-on suggested we’re on the right track 😌 🧶

Good morning knitters ☀️! This week is about TEXTURE; we’ve done stockinette & garter, the foundation stitches. Now show me your interesting stitch patterns. This Zoe uses slipped stitches on the front of the work to make two different diagonal patterns (not hard, but a pain). #ShowMeYourKnits 🧶

23:13 over three days 🎉! Thanks to everyone who followed along & cheered me on! I love how this is knitting up & it was a fun jumpstart to my knitting mojo! Now the trick will be to keep it going when I have to go back to work… But now, it’s happy hour! Cheers 🍻!

We have SLEEVE SEPARATION!!! 22:43 with some very long lace rows indeed! It might be beer o’clock soon (and I don’t actually have all 4 days off) but I’m very pleased with the long weekend progress! 🧶

Day 3, almost 18 hours of knitting 🧶. Some early morning rows & a break now for breakfast 🍑. Getting close to the split for sleeves, so the rows are huge! About 35 min for a lace, 17 min for a purl. Done the maths & pleased with my decision for the sleeves.

15 hr 44 min - and she is looking gorgeous 😍! Quick look ahead at the next section and some plotting - I might want a modification to the sleeve section, depending on the length I want to go to. Half or 3/4 for sure; it will be too warm for short sleeves.

Back on track 😮‍💨; it was a small mistake that I took for a big mistake and spent longer fixing it than I should have 😬. She’s not looking like much for four hours work, but we’re through the first lace repeat - so hopefully in to the rhythm soon 🤞🧶

Closer… 07:06 - ready to go! Just need to drink this coffee 🫩 I tried the Nova Cubics for a cowl last month & really like them? Good weight, nice feel, don’t notice the corners except they glide really well. Very satisfying. 🧶

Closer…closer…winding up this delightful bouncy, squishy Malabrigo Arroyo for my Watermark cardigan🧶! And trying desperately to capture the complex silvery-purple-grey of the colour. Used Arroyo for 1st time in May & loved how it knitted up 💜! Excited to see it in this pattern 👀!
