Norn Irish beer drinker living in Berlin.
We are using a homemade camera obscura to watch the eclipse. @akrennmair.bsky.social made it for the last partial eclipse.
I checked in a Späti and it is 6 months for both Tegernseer and Augustiner.
Spending a week in Oberbayern. The local beers are Hofbräuhaus Traunstein and Schönramer.
No interviews with Redknapp* hanging out of his car window. Games gone. *I dislike the wanker immensely.
Quite the day. Bus to Knoblach, walked to Brauerei Göller, then walked to Brauerei Hummel and Wagner. Fantastic beer, most expensive was 3,60€ for a half litre. We have made a terrible decision for "one" last beer at Cat Wheezle's Castle.
Start of our summer holiday. We have possibly made a bad choice and gone to Bamberg with @johnzee7.bsky.social and @fredcook.co.uk First stop is Spezial, one of my favourites.
Had to rush home from the pub as there was an unexpected storm about to kick off. Hopefully it brings a load of rain to lift the heat.
There are multiple floor plans. It's the second one and it's the cellar. 3 sinks to match the showers. I'd hate to pay their water bills or clean all the showers and sinks.
It's a lovely place to visit, not just for the beer, although we usually visit for the beer!
Watching my second football match of the day and it's interesting that the standard of the second one is not much better than the first. The first match was in the NOFV Oberliga Nord, second is PSG-Arse.
Post a better subject for a biopic named "Michael". #BetterMichaelFilms
Balcony beer. It's windy and as the sun has dropped it's getting chilly, but look at that blue sky and the half moon!
Went to the local Biergarten and then decided to visit our regular local pub. We've had to sit outside as it's so busy, packed with people much younger than me, all drinking alcohol.
On a chilly Sunday afternoon the Zollpackhof Biergarten season has begun. They had Spree Blech playing Blasmusik, Augustiner Helles on tap and blankets to help with the cold!
First balcony beer of the year. It was 18°c in Berlin today quite the change from the freezing weather we had last week.
First time seeing blue sky since we arrived in Portrush last week!
Have you never encountered the Mettigel from Germany? Yes that is raw minced pork and raw onion. You can now get vegan Mett if you're so inclined. Photo credit:- www.reddit.com/r/shittyfood...
Well after a very stressful few weeks we are on holiday. 2 nights in Dublin before heading back up to Portrush.
I'm in Northern Ireland and it's cloudy, this was the best photo I could get.
Quite the sunrise this morning it was absolutely freezing at -11°c.
This is the women's toilet in Zur Quelle. It's always fun trying to wash your hands whilst standing awkwardly over the toilet bowl as it's such a small cubicle.
That was a chilly walk this morning and there were plenty of icy surfaces.
Prep for Austrian Christmas tonight done and a load of the prep for Northern Ireland Christmas for tomorrow done. Time for a wee beer. Hope you all have a peaceful and merry Christmas.
This is what I imagine my mother-in-law's kitchen looks like at the start of December. We only get to see the results in the tin of biscuits she sends us every year.
After some Rauchbier I fancied a change of pace and we've opted for a couple of Kellerbier from Klosterbräu.
