We are ramping up the pressure on the Sleepy Hollow Board of Trustees to ensure they add #GoodCause to the agenda and bring it up for a vote. If passed, this bill would protect tenants from unreasonable rent increases & require landlords to have a good reason for evictions. Pass Good Cause now!

Our Youth Power Project (YPP) members have been leading the fight against the buffer zone bill in NYC & today they spoke to Councilmember Thomas-Henry on the harm this bill would cause to them and their classmates, in hopes she opposes it when it comes to a vote! 💪 #youthpower

💪🏠This is what tenant power looks like! #FreezeTheRent Last night’s HISTORIC decision by the Rent Guidelines Board to freeze the rent for thousands of NYC rent-stabilized tenants is a win by tenants, for tenants and a sigh of relief for the thousands of NYers already struggling to make ends meet.

"Today’s decision by the Supreme Court is a devastating blow to the 1.3M mothers, fathers, neighbors, coworkers, & friends living w/ #TPS who have made their lives in this country." Our Immigration Attorney, Siomara U., said on SCOTUS' ruling allowing Trump to end TPS for Haitians + Syrians in US.

💪 When tenants unite, we get results! Earlier this week, our Westchester members joined the Rent Guidelines Board (RGB) for a final vote on lease increases. The original proposal of an 8% increase is completely unjust. Thanks to pressure from tenants, the board lowered the increase!

NYC: time to #FreezeTheRent! TOMORROW, the NYC Rent Guidelines Board (RGB) will cast their final vote on whether to increase rent on rent stabilized units in NYC or freeze IT for THOUSANDS. In order to pass this rent freeze, we need to show up in big numbers for the final vote. Join us!

Congrats Grads!🎓 Today, 80+ students from our English as a Second-Language (ESL) classes celebrated their graduation. We are so proud of their hard work since September. Now they have the language skills to communicate with their broader community, health care professionals & find better jobs.
