Senator Grassley opening in #ToddBlanche nomination hearing is basically arguing that because people are still being arrested and crime rates it doesn’t fully claim are down, Blanche has done a good job. The survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s survivors, the NY Bar, and 1200 DOJ lawyers disagree.

@RepRaskin used part of his opening to expose the backgrounds of those engaged in attacking @SPLC. The pretense of the DOJ under this admin that it cares about violence against women or antisemitism is hard to support with people it hires or people it pardons.
“We know political violence” and @SPLC opposes it. A powerful opening statement by Law Professor Bryan Fair, who came with SPLC clients - student with autism SPLC represented, along with a Jewish Mom who had Neo Nazi threatened. “No one is free until everyone is free!”
@SPLCenter is being wrongly charged & challenged by Congress in a hearing today to make it harder for it to deliver free legal services & to fight hate & extremism this DOJ has pardoned. The point is to deny racism & whitewash extremism, & try to silence scare #civilrights but we wont be silent!
ICYMI: AL politicians drew congressional maps intentionally to dilute the power of Black Alabama voters. THAT’S discrimination. SCOTUS said fine. It’s NOT. They fear our growing political power. But try to silence us and we get louder because this is our democracy too. @civilrightsorg.bsky.social

I was honored to receive an honorary Doctorate from @cunylaw.bsky.social What a privilege to address the class of 2026. I told them we need them. I told them they are worthy; to hold their heads high even when attacked for loving justice & protecting the vulnerable. I am so very proud of them!
This administration’s attack on the Southern Poverty Law Center is a persecution, not a prosecution—and that should light a fire in all of us to get active in the fight for our rights! No functioning democracy punishes and silences civil rights advocacy. #StandwithSPLC

Trump attack on Southern Poverty Law Center is an attack on exposing hate groups. He & Todd Blanche want us to believe the KKK is made up racism! Politicians should try to win votes, not spread hate or harm those who fight it. Fight for our votes. Stop fighting to make it harder for us to vote!
