Just watched a Movie Understander™️ talk about how the dub in The Furious really took him out of the film - apparently the actors were filmed speaking their own language and then dubbed in English. I'm guessing this guy has never seen a Sergio Leoni film 😭 Children, I am begging you...
The Long Walk We were both nervous about watching this, as the novel messed us both up when we were kids, and King novels often have bad film adaptation. Oh boy. We were not ready. I think we held our best I for the entire film. Utterly gripping, and the right amount of nasty.
Nightmare Alley (the B&W director's cut) Relentless misery, just a straight descent into a hell of his own making. A masterpiece. We love DelToro in this house, and I think this might be our favourite.
This is a film we could watch & watch & watch. Endlessly entertaining, and bonus points for making exposition fun - that's a skill. And it's beautiful. Just a great looking film.
I'm gonna work backwards from here, screw it. The Sheep Detectives. We were like "how bad can it be? Let's give it a go. We can always turn it off" and we LOVED it. Everyone involved absolutely understood the brief & went for it. Utterly delightful. Be cringe & go watch it
