Planning some yeti-lid-friendly tumblers, but I need to get the dimensions precise. These sauce bowls are trimmed to 1/16th-inch steps, to test shrinkage for this clay & glaze. Looks like I'll be aiming for 3 7/16" inside diameter after trimming. 😅 (3 10/16" ID wet)

The best photo spot in our house requires a step stool, but I think the results are pretty good.

working out a new form on the left, for a friend who requested a travel mug. goal is that it fits a commercially available lid. and letting a porcelain light jar dry inverted on the right.

seven angular pieces staggered in two rows across a ware board. first is short and squat, then one with a cup holder narrow base, a dramatic flare out in the middle, and a gentle angle into the rim. next has a similar base/flare but then bends in and back out to the rim. third is a straight angle from narrow base to wide lip, then an inverted version of the narrow/flared/angled form but with a more gentle thrust out. finally an inverted jar, narrower at the base and angling out to a wide high shoulder, then back to an inset rim. next to it, a lid.

Prototype jar of light. It has some issues to work out with the mounting and wiring, but I'm happy with the proof of concept. Maybe at some point, a wireless version.

Some large noodle bowls that came out over the holidays. #pottery One has a slight glaze blemish, but otherwise I'm happy with them. Using Rocky Mountain BMX clay.

Four nested large soup or noodle bowls, with notches in the rim for holding chopsticks. The bowls are wide and round with a small foot and deep rings of texture from the base up to a wide smooth outset rim. The glaze is a deep red brown that pools to blue in the grooves, with a galactic white and blue textured drip from the rim.

Those four round bowls beside three angular conic bowls with deep foot rings and the same texture/glaze on angular sides up to a wide rim with similar notches.

six small white porcelain forms, angular like cylindrical coffins - half wide at the top, and the others wide at the base. Most have five holes in the top arranged like dice pips, but one is still solid, and one has a needle tool sticking out the top

Very happy with the concept, but had some serious glaze issues… like it just totally filled in the holes. lol, oops. I'll try again. Porcelain with clear glaze and a cobalt wash. We all agree which is for salt vs pepper, right? #pottery

The left form angles out from the base about a centimeter then angles in slowly for several inches to a flat top with five holes. There's a spray of blue wash from the base up the bright white form. The right form is the exact inverse, a wide angled top, sloping gently to the base - the blue splatter coming from above. It also has five holes.

low angle of a large cup in black clay, still leathery, with a short foot ring, rounded wide base, and then sharp angle in to a narrower lip. the teacup gorilla word mark is hand carved one word in slab serif caps above the other in a cursive script. The teacup e is lowercase and rotated slightly forward. The cup handle is a small ring sticking out the side.
