Garfield was not a day over forty seven when he first learned of the Ship of Theseus.

He first heard those words in passing amidst a stack of new smelling books Jon had meticulously poured over the night before. Then he spent an agonizing two weeks listening to his dear owner wax philosophy over mind numbing philosophy to his many escapades with a certain Liz Wilson. When that earned him nothing but a churlish remark about his "unusual arrogance,” he found those self same books piled high in the attic and a new crate of beer on the same table Jon had studied so hard on.

Garfield paid no mind. After all, this was nothing unusual when it came to Jon’s many attempts to woo the veterinarian, and god knows it won’t be the last. But as Garfield traces the veins of this Miqo'te's forearm, picturing those same curves and dips in a scintillating blue, he can’t help but hear Jon’s words echo to mind.

“And here, too?” Garfield whispers into the crook of Raha’s neck, feeling the rise of his chest lifting his furry body with every breath.

“Here, too,” Raha breathes, sinking comfortably into the pillows and sheets of Jon’s bed and Garfield can’t help but grin at the quickening heartbeats underneath.

“Is that so?” Garfield demurs, tracing his collarbones with his lips and planting tiny little kisses in its wake. “How fascinating…”

“I told you, it was…everywhere,” Raha shifts his weight, feeling the strain against his smalls and averts his gaze when the feline tilts his chin with careful paws.

“Even here?” He brushes Raha’s lips with his own. “Did the Tower lay claim to this too?”
