Demand for fashionable 'designer' dogs is losing momentum as buyers pivot toward more predictable breeds to evade high vet bills and health scares. Includes picture of the King and Queen with their Jack Russell Terriers.

Text from the article in a screenshot: Jack Russells were bred to pursue foxes underground, while border terriers were developed to keep pace with hunts along the English-Scottish border. Lagercrantz said their working history made their characteristics more predictable than those of some fashionable crosses.
"Jack Russells and border terriers are known quantities," he said. "Their temperament is well documented and consistent, unlike some crossbreeds where two litters can turn out completely different dogs. Buyers know what they're getting.

Honestly, I have no idea - except that Morris is now a substantially calmer nearly-three-year-old. He was a soul dog 🥹 the amazing @ffinlaysonart.bsky.social recently immortalised him in felt for L, and we’re both made up with felt-Buster! xxx

Here’s Morris on his #gotcha day!🥰 Best story: Eldest boy was 5 and scared of dogs, so we decided the only way to fix it was with a puppy. On the way to view he decided was going to name the puppy after the dog in Toy Story. The puppy we chose was already called Buster! Fate ♥️🥹 #terriertuesday
