Oooooh! I wouldn’t have thought to pick the violet shade, but I sure love the Black Cherry, Plum Depth, and Wine Velvet.

A quick/hilarious aside: we are hosting DnD tonight, I’m not feeling well so I’ve just been drawing in bed. My cat Rupert is VERY UPSET RE. THE STRANGERS IN HIS HOME and has been aggressively cuddling. It has made creativity… challenging.

I started doodling this yesterday and I’m trying to decide if I should accept the fact that it’s a meh little doodle, if I should try to (over? Re?) work it, or if I should accept it as ‘thinking with a pen’ - and try again with more thought and attention.

Little abandoned towers. But are they in the clouds or made from clouds? Are they ruins or just in the distance? And are they Roman? Medieval? Does it matter? The only thing I can say for certain is they were drawn with a blue gel pen.

We are watching The Sheep Detectives and Rupert is ENTHRALLED. He’ll come cuddle when boring humans are in focus, but the moment sheep are back he runs to his spot on the carpet and watches.

Took out the pens today and doodled this tiny mushroom. I really like how the teeny tiny ferns worked out! And I like the bracken frame, but ran into bad-page-placement 😅 hmmm… what if I really added to the bracken?! Like fill in the corner and down the edge? Hmmmmm

This boat is parked in the marina behind my apartment. It is named the “Helvetica”. Friends. The font is serif full and cursive-adjacent… it floats merrily driving me ever more mad.

Tv show poster for Covington Cross. It says “14th century adventure. 14th century romance. 20th century attitude.” At the top in very tiny text. It starred Nigel Terry for one glorious season in 1992. For a twelve year old girl who loved Excalibur, this show was the most perfect series to grace her timeline.

A thing I found really hopeful yesterday was that while #DigitalArt was trending, people posting AI/Synth garbage had few likes and literally NO comments. As took the time to block, I scrolled first, and saw countless crummy boring images with literally 0-7 likes and no replies or reposts. Anyways:

A digital WIP. It pictures 3 wolves being very cross about something. They’re quite abstracted. I used Procreate to draw and paint this.

One of my favourite digital paintings. It shows a dilapidated farmhouse in the distance under a huge prairie sky.

This is actually a combination of traditional ink (the fish) and digital work (everything else). I’d really like to blend traditional with digital more often (but in a more informed way, this was really me just playing around with)

Also an example of me playing around drawing/painting in Procreate. No one else really likes this one, but I do! I feel like the palette is really strong and it looks like it could be a neat fabric print.

I cannot get to sleep tonight. I am plagued by very angry voices in my head and I’m just too verklempt. This is some old art of mine. I made it cutting up crappy art class assignments and collaging them onto crappy giant newsprint pad and drawing with messy charcoal. #TraditionalArt

This is a thing I created by doing rubbings, then cutting them up and collaging them, and then drawing on top of them with charcoal. I think it looks like two piles of robot and demon heads being cool. Like Hepcats. It is old and reminds me of a time when I was making art and had hopes for my future. I still think it’s pretty neat.

So… my iPad is starting to fail annoyingly. I decided to look at the new iPad Pro and the advertising is all about how good it is for AI… and creativity? The two most opposing things I can think of? I think I’ll look into fixing my old busted one because Apple has really yucked my consumerist yum.
