The new Yaphank-BNL station is officially open, with service beginning Saturday, July 18. It is fully accessible and better connected to Brookhaven National Laboratory and the East End's major roadways.
Comments, questions, concerns for the LIRR? Come join us for our next Meet Your Manager event on Monday, July 20 from 7 to 8:30 AM at Jamaica station. Our team will be at the main lobby to hear your feedback for the railroad.
Customers should consider using the Babylon, Montauk or Port Washington Branches as alternatives. Normal service on all branches will resume by 4:30 a.m. Monday, July 27. Visit mta.info/article/long-island-rail-road-service-changes-summer-2026 for full details and plan your trip on TrainTime.
PLAN AHEAD: Major LIRR service changes are planned for the weekend of July 24–27 as we test and commission a new signal system. The work will require a full suspension of train service through Elmont–UBS Arena Station.
