After protests erupted in Pakistan-administered Kashmir in June, authorities enforced a severe communications blackout. Since then, we’ve heard harrowing reports of Pakistani security services firing on tens of thousands of peaceful protesters, killing at least 30 people this week. [1/2]

Campaigners, including families affected by Hillsborough and the Manchester Arena bombing, fought against plans to exempt the secret services from the duty of candour. The government dropped those plans, and last week the Hillsborough Law passed all its stages in the House of Commons.
