A cat poster in the style of a 1930s soviet propaganda poster. The poster is black and white except for a large, red flag held up by a black cat. It reads "Many Furs - One Working Class." Below the black cat, in a row looking forward, are four other cats of various types and fur colours with arms forward and claws out in an aggressive stance. Behind them is a statue of two cats holding up a star. The text below the image reads "United against capitalist domination and fascist barbarity we can make a world belonging to all." Cat Star Union (2018). The design of this one is based on an iconic 1960's space poster. My iteration featuring, of course, a very enthusiastic cosmonaut cat. How would space exploration be different in a different form of society?

"We Shall Beat Our Swords Into Plowshares and Study War No More" (2018).

A cat poster in the style of a mid-century, soviet propaganda poster. A large, orange cat holds aloft a hammer in one paw and a sword in the other. They are striking down on the sword, positioned as if on a huge anvil, transforming the sword into a plow. Behind them a stormy sky is broken by a golden sunrise. PM aggressively seeks huge, old-world, oil projects while the fires burn.

An ink drawing of a skeletal, grim reaper cat riding a ghoulish undead dog as a mount. The reaper hold a scythe to which is affixed a banner that read "choose capitalism." Dark clouds and smoke seem to follow the figure. Ahead of the figure are plants, grasses and flowers but behind the figure is barren soil as if the passing figure wilts the environment. A vapour forms from the steps of the dog and flows behind.

"Red Dot" (2018) captures the energy and excitement of chasing the mysteries of the universe with a great gag.

I started a playthrough of Disco Elysium, so here's my cat version of Harry and Kim. I'm sure a few followers know these two. Any other fans?

Industry - To Free Time and Enrich Life (2018).

A cat propaganda poster in the style of soviet constructivism. Three abstract form cats swing hammers. Their swings form a curved shape of rainbow in the air. Literacy Parts the Clouds of Ignorance (2025). Based on a poster from 1920 but with cats and flying dogs of course.

An ink drawing of a cat riding a winged dog over an industrial city with houses and factories. The cat wears a flowing scarf and holds up a fiery torch in one paw. In the other paw the cat holds open a book, its pages facing towards the viewer. Written on the pages is "workers of all nations unite." Football Rival Cats (2025). I'm not much of a sports fan but I think this line drawing would make a nice painting. When cats play sports I imagine there are a lot of paws in faces and head bats.

Capitalism as a demonic power and Socialism as an angelic power (2023).

An ink drawing of a cat with demonic wings and pointy ears. The demon cat sits on a pillar adorned with jewels. In one paw they hold up over their head an iron collar attached to a chain. In the other paw they hold a sword to which the chain is also affixed. Wrapped around the figure and the objects is a ribbon the top of which reads "capitalism" followed by words such as "indignity," "ecocide," "war," and "imperialism & colonialism." The background of the image is tall, imposing parapeted walls and a dark, obscuring smoke or mist.

To the Litterbox of History (2017)

Litter Box of History: A cat poster in the style of early Soviet Union propaganda. A cat (Lenin) stands on top of the globe sweeping away the forces of reaction and capitalism represented as cats wearing the garb of a priest, king, capitalist, and general. The characters look shocked and worried by this event. At the bottom is the slogan "To the litterbox of history" a play on the phrase "ash heap of history" famously used by Trotsky in 1917.

Starting a painting based on this drawing today.

Cats of all sorts fill the view from the bottom of the image into the horizon. The cats in the foreground draw on a large globe images of justice, love, fish, and trees. The crowd carries a large, long red flag that flutters in the wind and also forms a large arrow pointing to a sun that rising in the background with glowing rays.

Pyramid of the Capitalist System (2026)

A cat poster based on an old propaganda poster, "the pyramid of capitalist system." The poster is divided between various tiers. Workers and farmers are at the bottom holding up the next level. Text by them reads "we work for all" and "we feed all." That tier are the rich eating at a fancy table labelled "eat for you." Next is army and police, then intellectuals, priest, and journalist followed by "we rule you" which features a king and governors. At top of the pyramid is a bag of money with text reading "capitalism."

Hang in There, Comrade! (2025). Drawing for a poster playing on the "hang in there baby" posters of the early 1970s.

An ink drawing of three anthropomorphic cats. One hangs onto a rope with both paws, just able to keep its chin above the rope. Two other cats, however, on either side of the cat are giving it a boost. All the cats are smiling suggesting friendliness and joy. Large text at top reads "Hang in there, comrade!," a play on the popular "hang in there, baby" cat poster of the 1970's.

Missed Caturday Night at the Movies! How about a Monday Meowtinee? Scaredy Cat Films presents the Stampty Catbrick classic, The Treating.
