NIH Vigils
@nihvigils
We commemorate and mourn the losses resulting from cuts to funding, programs, and people that have been both discriminatory and indiscriminate. We gather every Saturday at 10 am at the Medical Center Metro station at NIH in Bethesda. Opinions are our own.
Amazing and informative infographic created by a former fed about the proposed OMB rule on federal funding. It explains what it is, why it matters, and what you can do about it. We would love to see public comments on this to exceed 40k!
These were the leaders of NIAID who were recently forced out. Two have been moved to another institute that they will attempt to dismantle completely (National Institute of Minority Health Disparities) and two have opted to retire. Spotted outside the NIAID building
Loving that this badass photo of a DC May Day protest was featured in a @nytimes.com article on the national May Day events. #FreeDC
The NIH Vigils has become a place for community and support as we endure censorship and antiscience policies inside NIH. Every week for a year, we have gathered to mourn the losses to science and the harms to public health. And we will continue to gather every Saturday until NIH is rebuilt.
Happening today! Wondering whether there’s anything to the Covid lab leak theory pushed by the Trump administration? Hear from the experts actually trained in this field! (Spoiler alert: the NIH Scientific Freedom Lecture is not about science or freedom)
