My multiplayer game Gone Feral features a revolutionary feature... You can pause the game🤯 It's coop. You're going to play with your friends. Life happens! I let you pause the game. It can be unpaused if someone is gone too long or something. More games should let you pause😆

Locations and items both have tags so they show up in places that make sense. For instance, in the picture above, it knows it should be putting tents, nature or a cabin there, not a parking lot. This way you get a lot of replayability without it just being random mush.

I could have done 100% random, but I think "guided" procedural content works better. That way there is more of an actual design to levels, but then you're also not just memorizing where the best items are, exactly how to get to the target, etc.

So, my new game Gone Feral is a coop rogue-like assassination game. What's that mean? The levels are not the same every time. The overall layout is the same but the specific locations are different every time. Your targets are not always in the same spot.
