Turns out ArtFight is still going on! Also, I somehow hadn't drawn a single dinosaur this year, so I had to squeeze one in while I still could. Character search brought up this delightful Centrosaurus called Pank belonging to firestorm_shiba. He was such a fun character to draw!

ArtFight attack number 5! The eponymous space puppy for Bloodhound Omega! I just really like the character. The character design is just such a delight that always makes me smile to see!

My phone informed me it's my brother's birthday today, so I spent part of a coffee break at work drawing him a birthday card. He has a black cat, hence the subject. (Text says approximately: "GRATS! W(ishes): ur sis")

ArtFight attack number 4 this year is Biscuit for @ravennowithtea.bsky.social Such good (literal) sea horse. So fluffy! I'm just fully treating ArtFight as an excuse to see what kinds of things I can do with the new brown paper sketchbook now.

ArtFight attack number 3! For @pyttis.bsky.social, their character Verso, a wolf with the ability to grow any kinds of leaves on their body. Drawn at work in a warehouse, hence being on a post-it note, by a ballpoint pen and a green highlighter.

My first ArtFight attack this year is Kittenbee for @eskiworks.bsky.social ! Used this as an excuse to try how my new brown paper sketchbook handles Copic markers. Draw to scale, she's actually just a single inch long, not including the tail and limbs!

Tiny Kittenbee enthusiastically leaping after a small cloth eating moth (I've been dealing with an infestation in my apartment for a while now, so this counts as my vengeance).

Kittenbee is a teeny tiny little adorable cat with a magnificent, supremely fluffy tail, bee wings and two antennae. She's colored approximately like a bumble bee.

Used these guys as an experiment to see if this new sketchbook can stand watercolors. Not amazingly, but still better than expected! Might change some of them later, not sure if I'm really feeling the gray on the bottom left one, but I'm quite liking these so far!

The same five faun characters as in the quoted post.

The first one is now reddish brown, with black markings covering their neck and abdomen, with striking white markings on their hooves, hands and face.

The second one kept the white marking covering them from their cheeks to their waist, the rest is now gomden brown with lighter hair.

The third one is now fully reddish brown, except dor a wide white band around their waist/torso and face, with some small freckles of the reddish brown within the white. There are dark brown stripes framing their white face marking.

Second row the next one is white from armpits down, their head, neck and shoulders being gray. They now have white chin and eyebrows, and their hair is slightly darker gray.

The final one is now golden sandy brown, with darker brown markings circling around their nose and forehead, collar bones, hand and legs, and with darker stripes framing their lighter belly.

Basically all of them have darker dorsal stripes along their spines, except where those get interrupted by white markings.

Drew some fauns for the same setting my centaurs and minotaurs are from. These guys are specifically the minotaurs' adoptive family. Mainly exploring their shapes, but got carried away with marking planning. (Haven't figured out markings for the top right one yet, but I'm liking the others!)

The first one is skinny with "bald" head and small horns, with black marking covering their neck and stomach.

The second one is shorter and more round, and has slightly longer horns, very long ears and even longer hair. They are white from cheeks down all the way to their belly button.

The third one is the still markingless one. They are very fluffy, with long dark hair covering their eyes, and with horns that curve out to the side. They have magnificent pantaloons, as they are at least 80% pure fluff between hips and ankles.

Bottom row, left one is long and skinny in an angular way, looks old. They have round horns curling around their perky ears. Their hair is on a bob cut, and they are white starting from halfway of the chest down.

Final one is taller than the others. They have black nose and dark hair, wirh droopy ears and their horns curl upwards at the back. They have a black necklace type marking, and they are missing their left hand from wrist down.

Started a new sketchbook, this one has brown pages! Had the thought of "hehe, what if DnD tattoo" and two hours later I accidentally this thing. I may have to add it to the list of tattoos I need to get some day. Oops.

Happy midsummer, peeps! (Photo taken from the window of my room at my parents' place at 23:33, or about half an hour before midnight.)

The sky is still blue with some white clouds as sun JUST set few minutes earlier, and it hasn't had time to get dark yet. Though honestly it doesn't really get much darker than this as the sunrise will happen around 3 in the morning. The sun is just barely below the horizon for few hours before getting up again.

I finally have one (1) human character in my ArtFight roster! Only took me, like, a year and half to design and learn to draw him. Master Anatekenan Colbeken-Teoth, or master Teoth for short.

He has brown skin with white piebald markings on his chin and forehead. His long hair is dark brown except for a single white stripe where the forehead marking intersects with the hairline. His eyes are brown.

He has dangly blue and gold earring, and the part of his clothing that's visible is righ blue with golden clasp on the collar. On his chest there's a golden brooch thingy with four bright blue tassles hanging from it.

Top left is the face portrait in the previous picture. Below it is a detail shot of his right hand, picturing white markings covering his entire middle finger and half of his index finger.

In the top middle of the sheet is a more detailed picture of the chest broach thingy, with a clearer picture of it's middle showing a carving on it. Below that there's a proper drawing of the carving, the Colbeken-Teoth family crest. The crest resembles a cartouche like those of ancient Egyptian pharaohs. From left to right the pictograms inside the cartouche are crescent moon, three dots, two very stylized ship sails that might as well be knives, a plant looking like an arrow tail, and a loafing unicorn laying on two horizontal lines.

Master Teoth, Xaranthras's boss finally has a proper design (in time for ArtFight even!) Rejoice!

He looks vaguely like an anthropomorphic deer mixed up with ceratopsid dinosaur, his neck is nearly as tall as his torso, and at the back of his head is a crest that resembles a ceratopsid head frill with horns growing out of it. My sketchbook of the past two years is finally getting full, and browsing through it I noticed I had forgotten to finish coloring this art of my previous DnD character! Had to dig the first color portrait of them to compare; Puro at the start of adventure vs Captain Puro, the hero.

They are a tabaxi (anthropomorphic cat) with torbie markings: mostly light gray with black stripes, dotted by blotches of orange with brown stripes. She has green eyes. She's semi-long hair, with floofy tail.

On the left they are standing rather awkwardly stiff looking, while holding a curved sword in one hand. They are wearing partial leather armor, with brown pants and green sash/belt/kilt thingy. On their left ear are three dangling golden earrings. (Reference to Roronoa Zoro from One Piece as an inside joke with one of my DnD buddies)

On the right the character is standing proudly, with a lop sided smile. They are wearing a wide brimmed hat with some decorative feathers and a reddish brown cape (Cloak of Billowing for the DnD nerds out there. Bought for her by her party as a joke). Her armor is mostly the same as in the old drawing, but among it there are now hidden an arsenal of bladed weapons. The old curved sword is sheathed on their belt, while on the other side they now carrying a fancy looking rapier. There are at least two dagger handles poking out behind her back, and there's three daggers on a belt tied around her leg. There's also a thin dagger handle poking out of her leg bracer

Aaaaand he has colors!

The same reference sheet of Xaranthras as in the quoted post, this time in color!

Xaranthras is sandy brown with the top of his head being darker brown. He has white chin with dark markings at the corners of his mouth. There is a white marking running down the front of his neck all the way down to his chest. He has darker dorsal stripe that spreads into spots at his hips. His hands and feet are white with darker markings at their backs. His tail- and ear tips are dark as well. His eyes are very pale yellow. Also the palms of his hands as well as the bottoms of his feet are leathery, slightly desaturated reddish brown.

Decided that if Xaranthras's boss is going to have an ArtFight profile, might as well make one for Xaranthras too. Behold, the first ever face of this guy that's both up to date AND in color!

He looks kinda like a mix of an ungulate and a ceratopsid dinosaur, having a head crest vaguely similar to the ceratopsid frill pointing backwards behind his head with several horns growing from its edge. He has pointy, upwards ears and pale, piercing eyes. His fur is mostly golden brown with white chin and throar, while the top of his head from his eyebrows back over the entire crest is darker. He has very short, dark mane running down the back of his neck.

Was recently talking about the importance of reference, and was reminded of this pair of pictures I'd drawn of a friend of mine's DnD character. Left one drawn without any reference, for the right one I had someone stand in that pose for reference.

The same character, but now drawn from reference. The pose is basically the same, but looks much more natural and dynamic, and her clothing has realistic wrinkles as well! The perspective works so much better and makes the character look larger and less like a kid too. The signerature dates the art to november 2019.

I think I'm a bit proud of myself. I've been trying to learn how to draw humans and after a full year of trying I finally figured out how! So Xaranthras's boss finally has a proper face.

I colored them! Unfortunately this sketchbook page didn't take watercolors as well as previous ones, so the colors are a bit blotchy. The theater twins, the cream colored himbo and his wild type (with some white) sister.

Oh, I heard it's International Asexuality Day today! Also featuring my arm dinosaur, to also celebrate its one year inking anniversary while I'm at it! (Tattooed and designed by zu_immortal on instagram)

There is a tattoo is a stripy Sinosauropteryx-type dinosaur surrounded by monstera leaves tattooed across the forearm, covering it from elbow to wrist. The dinosaur is fluffy, it has whiskers like a cat, and has a wide eyed expression. I like to think it's gonna go have zoomies at any moment.

If I just keep drawing my minotaurs, I'm eventually bound to make a drawing I can actually color. Still nameless twins, who are part of a performing troupe otherwise mostly made up of fauns.

And then I spent, like, another hour doing basically the pencil version of that thing where you move a line a single pixel over, back and forth over and over again. Still not brave enough to do watercolors on it. But hey, at least the character looks nice!

Colored her!

A drawing of a centaur. She is standing, looking back over her shoulder and smiling, and her hands are held slightly elevated to not block her clothing. She's wearing a blue silk flower with golden middle behind her ear, and a short blue bead chain earring. There's a wide collar/necklace on her chest also in blue, with three blue oval gems, with small chains of beads hanging beneath each gem, matching her earring. On her lower body is a blue capelet that vaguely resembles ancient Egyptian loin cloth, also in blue. At the front of the loin cloth there are two more blue gems that match the ones on her collar. At the base of her tail there are two gold rings.

She herself is golden brown with darker mane and tail and a dorsal stripe, with white piebald markings covering her face, neck, right arm and three out of four of her legs, as well as the waist of the horsey-part. Her one colored leg (front right) and her left arm also have slightly darker colored sock-like markings. Her mane and tail are long and wavy.

The outlines are drawn in brown fineliner, where as the colors are watercolor.

Concept arted some centaur fashion. This one is specifically supposed to be the uniform of a fancy bath house worker.
