Today on Bob Dylan’s subscription page is a twilight zone type sad story, THE MAN WHO COULDN’T SLEEP by Jerzy Bossak. I googled the odd author name to find the pen name is that of a Polish film director. Anyone know his work?

John Locke was a philosopher who greatly influenced our founding fathers including Thomas Jefferson. This is from “a letter concerning toleration.” Our founding fathers knew that the best way to protect faith was to have a separation of religion and state.

www.nytimes.com/2026/06/14/o... We get the benefit today of hearing Bob talk about 80. (Bob wisely didn’t give the man who wouldn’t listen anyway any advice). I think of all the time lyrics Dylan wrote over the years like time is an ocean but it ends at the shore and now his thoughts on time at 80.

On this Wednesday before Bob Dylan’s 85th birthday I am thinking of his paintings. This is one of my favorites. I don’t know it’s the symmetry of the city, the ocean and the sky. The city at the mercy of and strong enough to withstand the elements. Coexisting.
