Railroad signals and other train stuff! Twitter Refugee. New Jersey Proud. Ask about my Christmas week SEPTA Trip.
The #BFB100 event was pretty sweet. Glad I made a point of attending 👍
Masked commuter refuses to use the overpass @ BWI Airport Rail Station.
Failing then succeeding at creating the @Wawa version of the Mc1035. 🍌🫐☕🤤
Holy shit, @techconnectify.bsky.social got a visual shout out on #RickAndMorty!
BTW there is a stretch of I-295 near Trenton that was ploughed through a wetland on a causeway in the late 1990s because the rules only apply rail transit, not highways.
In North America cowbirds are common brood parasites and I even caught one pulling the trick in my yard. These photos taken a day apart.
Because PATCO Speedline decided that Memorial Day was a weekday, service ended at 1130p. Luckily I was able to make a 2 minute 😵 connection from Amtrak train 65 to the 1251a NJT ACRL departure which will get me closer to home. I feel like I'm being subtly told to drive. 😡
Fascinating pedestrian overpass at the east end of DeWitt yard. It's pre-ADA so it uses a more aggressive slope that allows for a more compact footprint. Today's more sedate slopes remind me of the soft bigotry of low expectations.
My mom watched the Late Show from the beginning in 1993, was a fan of Letterman and grew to like Colbert. Therefore it's fitting that I had the chance to watch the final episode on the same CRT she used before bed.
Here are some new BNSF bridges you didn't hear about because they didn't cost a billion dollars.
For profit freight railroads have incredibly efficient track and RoW building systems. For example this was cheaper than reboring a tunnel for double stacks. New Passenger lines just have terrible cost incentives.
About 5 years ago the $5-6 wholesale box of Cascade powder was discontinued forcing me to move to the slightly more expensive gel ($6-7). Well just discovered the basic gel has been replaced by the $10 "platinum" gel 😡. Attn @techconnectify.bsky.social who is on top of all things dishwasher.
Highway bridge components fell onto the NEC at Cranston pulling down the overhead catenary. 184 terminated at Kingston but left its tracker on. Was registering at 18.5 hours late as of this afternoon 😆
The storage situation isn't a complete disaster, but one definitely has to employ a lot of life hacks and assertiveness. I recommend North Face 150 liter climbing bags.
I hate those things with a blinding fury. Also what's next, a railroad shelf relay? 🙄
Bit of a problem with the #Acela NG single seat charging sockets. I was lucky enough to be able to use the ADA outlet, but I'm surprised this hasn't been reported on yet.
