She/Her. Collector of many geeky things. Artist?
Street Fighter! The Movie! The Game! Capcom, 1995, Saturn I saw the movie in the theaters in 1995. It sucked back then. I've been watching it while cleaning today. It still sucks now. The *only* thing that I enjoyed was Kylie Minogue's Cammy. The game is better than it should be. #RandomGameSaturday
I’m in a flare up and feeling everything and nothing. The US is being bulldozed and stripped for copper. Every day there is more shitty News about needlessly cruel and stupid actions by weak and cowardly people. But at least cats.
Value! Super Mario 4 + Side Egg + Hugo! Bomber 199 in 1 for Game Boy For some reason, I was super excited about finding this at a local store. I love these damn things. It's mostly early Japanese GB titles, but it has Hugo, which was PAL only! 19 games that repeat 👎. Side Egg 👍. #RandomGameSaturday
Ahoy hoy? Ducks Ahoy, 1984, CBS Software for C64. My Grandpa used a C64 for his landscaping job in the early '80s. We played Ducks Ahoy together. This game is darling. Direct ducks to boats and ferry them to shore, or the Hippo will bloop them. The book is silly and fun. 🦆/10 #RandomGameSaturday
20 years of perfection. Tetris DS, 2006, Nintendo DS I feel like this one is one of the finest games of the era. 6 different game modes, with creative theming that delves into Nintendo's past. Single and local or Wifi multiplayer with up to 10 players. My fav is Touch Mode. <3 #RandomGameSaturday
I'm a loyal Bobson's shopper! Board Game Top Shop, 2001, A1 Games for PS1 Look, 25 year old physical media! This budget title is a take off of Itadaki Street, up to 6 players, with a fun, absurd flavor. Easy to pick up solo, or with a couch of friends. Chirp-Chirp Shoes FTW! #RandomGameSaturday
Currently watching To Be or Not To Be, 1983. It hits very differently today than it did when I watched it 20 years ago. One of my favorite Mel Brooks films.
Do you love Bees, but hate BeeBots that look like Bears? Sure, we all do. Killer Bees, 1983, Odyssey2 As silly as the premise is, it's loads of fun, with that arcade action that sucks you in, level after level. The voice add on offers BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ and the sound of the RoSHA Ray. Totally Different!
Included in an Odd Lot of pictures from the liquidated Big Lots corporate headquarters. I can taste the Aqua Net, Virginia Slims, and Tab! Classy!
Happy Pride! Stardew Valley, 2016, Chucklefish & Concerned Ape for PS4 This one is sealed, because I have it digitally on other platforms. This is the first game that I got to make my in game character nice and queer, and every playthrough I always marry the same girl. Leah, FTW! #RandomGameSaturday
post the best picture you have ever taken of your pet (if you feel like it):
It looked like sort of a big toidle holding a little toidle in a trenchcoat. You’re going to LaGuardia, right?
Talk quickly to me. Motor Mouth board game, 1990, Tiger Games I’m still feeling down, so I grabbed something that makes me smile. I adore Tiger and John Moschitta. The game sucks, though, as you and your friends have to say tongue twisters. I am not even good at talking slowly! #RandomGameSaturday
Unexpected passing = not so #RandomGameSaturday I fell in love with the character Giles from Buffy. Obsessed. Fanfic, figures, fan group. I got an Xbox just for the BtVS game, as the cast did the voice acting. I was working at GS when the sequel hit. Thanks for everything, ASH. You were the best.
This is Rupert Giles. It was a coincidence that he was named after my favorite Buffy character, because he chose me. I used to be in a fan group for Giles called the Tweedy’s. Anthony Stewart Head was a great actor, singer, and an overall good dude. His memory will be a blessing.
Maybe I'm a Beshemoth Slime... Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2, 2011, Square-Enix, DS. My lame claim to fame is that not too long after this game came out, I was ranked 86th in the world. And yes, I was stomping my foes with a friggin castle. DQM is one of my favourite series. #RandomGameSaturday
Portable stereo jukebox. Kirby's Dream Land, 1992, Hal Laboratory/Nintendo, GB. Best friend had a GameBoy and Kirb, then after a flood, insurance got her a new GameBoy. We bought her old one, and we had a GameBoy and Kirb. I suck at Kirb (hehe), but sound code = best jams on GB. #RandomGameSaturday
So many Poogies! Monster Hunter Stories, 2016, Capcom for 3DS. I'm not much into hunting, but give me a turn-based monster tamer, and I will catch 'em all! It is Pokémon + Fire Emblem with its own seasoning. The art style in the first 2 was adorable, though 3 looks more grown up. #RandomGameSaturday
I have a digital camera. Game Boy Camera, 1998, Nintendo for the Game Boy. The limitations of the 128x128 greyscale camera make it tougher to capture a great image than a point and shoot. But look at that quality Rupert! There are loads of mini games, fun and pure Nintendo charm. #RandomGameSaturday
Hatch 'em all! Monster Sanctuary, Moi-Rai/Team 17, 2019, Switch. Monster taming + Metroidvania exploration. It is heavy on combos and targeting weaknesses = challenge! I am a sucker for monster taming and rich bestiaries. The art style and soundtrack make for a great game! #RandomGameSaturday
Our Discord is making their way through the Tower. The Tower of Druaga, 1985, Namco for the Famicom We can't bring ourselves to erase history from carts like this. Matsubara, your game is safe. I've been working on the PCE version and man, it can be really obtuse. But adorable. #RandomGameSaturday
Looks like our Petsters are from the same litter. A while back, I foster failed a whole bunch of robot cats.
Before EA ruined everything. Sim City, 1991, Nintendo+Maxis, SNES Nintendo took Maxis' solid formula and added their distinct flavor. The soundtrack is mellow and lovely. This was the first version of Sim City I'd ever played, and I think it is still my favorite. Bowser Attack! #RandomGameSaturday
Feeling moony. Lunar Lander, 1990, Pack-In-Video for GameBoy. This was released 4 years after the Challenger disaster, so the still vivid flashbacks of my entire generation are probably why it never left Japan. It plays like Atari's Lunar Lander once you get off Earth. Decent. #RandomGameSaturday
Yes, I am showing off this week, which makes it a less #RandomGameSaturday Chocobo no Fushigi Dungeon, 1997, Square on WonderSwan This little guy sat at Arcade Legacy for years. We traded a stack of $$ PS2 RPGs and brought it home. I will not be modding this, as it is perfect. I love Chocobo!
Opa Opa Go Round! Galactic Protector, 1988, Sega for Mark III/Master System. I adore Fantasy Zone and this off shoot is a blast. (I know what I did there.) The graphics are Cute Em Up excellence, it makes good use of the FM sound unit, and the paddle controls are smooth joy. <3 #RandomGameSaturday
I present to you a Vervoid, from the Terror of the Vervoids, an episode from Colin Baker’s run. I think they were called “Fanny Heads.”
