I’m extraordinarily proud to present a check for $1.2 million in federal funding to the City of Fairlawn for the Reservoir Park Restoration Project!

I toured the Newton Family Apartments in Canton, and it was inspiring to see this housing project come to life. The site of the former Canton Inn was transformed by Canton For All People into 52 new affordable units for families, complete with a playground, community room, and fitness center.
This week, I toured the Kent State University Airport, met with students and faculty, and learned more about the future of aviation in Ohio.
Unionized workers deserve clear contracts quickly, rather than facing dead ends. I Have a Bill for That. The Faster Labor Contracts Act ensures that unionized workers are able to streamline paths to contracts in a timely manner. When there’s a problem, I Have a Bill for That.
Ohio is proud to be the home of eight First Ladies. Throughout history, women have built communities, advanced new ideas, and expanded opportunities for generations to come.
Communities across our country are facing a housing crisis, and Ohio families are feeling the impact. That’s why I voted for the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act to increase our housing supply, lower costs, and make homeownership more attainable.
In the one year since Republicans passed the Big Ugly Bill into law, 98,000 Ohioans have been put at risk of experiencing hunger due to cuts in SNAP.
250 years ago, our nation was born with a promise of liberty and justice for all. This Independence Day, we remember the sacrifices of those who fought for our freedoms as we seek to make that promise come true for all Americans.
Women’s contributions to our nation’s history are monumental, but often overlooked. Join me on July 7 for an event to celebrate women’s leadership and impact during the last 250 years. Sign up at sykes.house.gov/events.
No one deserves to live in unsafe or unhealthy conditions. That’s why I’m advocating for the residents of Spring Hill Apartments in Akron and sent a letter to the HUD.
July is National Parks & Recreation Month, and we're lucky to have one of our nation's greatest treasures right here at home—Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

LaTeris Cook. Megan Keleman. Cortez Davis Sr. Ericka Weems. These are just some of the people our community has lost to gun violence. Congress must act.
Join me for a Call with Your Congresswoman to discuss affordable housing. Learn more about my work in Washington, what our community is doing locally, and have your questions answered. RSVP at sykes.house.gov/events.
Eleven years ago today, love won. The Supreme Court’s decision in Obergefell v. Hodges guaranteed the freedom to marry for same-sex couples nationwide and affirmed that everyone deserves equal dignity under the law.
Republicans want to talk about fraud, but they will not talk about the fraud being committed against the American people by the Trump administration. Accountability should apply across the board, not just when it is convenient. People in #OH13 and families across the country deserve better.
These decisions send a clear and unacceptable message: working families, immigrants, and consumers come last, while powerful institutions come first. That is not justice.
Today marks 4 years since Roe v. Wade was overturned. Let’s be clear: abortion is healthcare, and your healthcare decisions belong to you—no one else. As a proud @reprocaucus.bsky.social Member, today and every day, I trust you, not Republicans, to make decisions about your life, health, and body.
Black women have always stood up to protect our communities. @replamonica.bsky.social did just that when she showed up to Delaney Hall. Now she’s facing persecution. I’m joining @housedemocrats.bsky.social to support her because I stand against targeting elected officials for doing oversight.
BIG NEWS! 🎉 Tonight, the House made an important step towards more affordable housing for Americans by passing the 21st Century Road to Housing Act. The bill included my legislation, the HOMES Act, which will prevent investors from buying up homes.
Last week, I joined the Akron Canton Advocacy Alliance for a panel on the importance of immigration in our region. Immigrants are vital to our workforce, support key industries, start businesses, pay taxes, and help #OH13 thrive.
I’ll continue fighting in Congress until no student has to fear gun violence in their school. #GunViolenceAwarenessMonth

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandfathers, and father figures whose love, support, and guidance help strengthen our families and communities.
Freedom is worth celebrating. Freedom is worth protecting. Freedom is worth fighting for. Juneteenth isn’t just about remembering our history. It’s a call to continue the work. Happy Juneteenth!
I am deeply concerned about the FBI raid of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative in an apparent effort to use law enforcement to intimidate community organizers and halt voter registration. Every citizen must be able to exercise their right to vote in free and fair elections.
