The Trump Administration admitted in court that it canceled nearly 300 energy projects in states that didn't vote for Trump—and then lied about it.   These projects would have created jobs, lowered energy costs, & invested in communities. Sometimes things are not what they seem. Republicans put a bill on the floor that supposedly would ban members of Congress from trading stocks, but it actually included the SAVE Act—a voter suppression bill.   I voted NO because I will always stand up for our right to vote.

FSC Democrats tried to subpoena Russell Vought, Acting Director of the CFPB. He’s required to testify before the committee twice a year, yet this was his first appearance in two years. The American people deserve accountability. They’re not getting it from this administration.

Women mean business. In the #FightingFifth and across our country, women own more than 40% of U.S. businesses. That's why I launched the Fighting Fifth Small Business Advisory Council—to bring entrepreneurs' lived experiences to Washington and help shape the policies that impact small businesses.

As a former educator, I'll always believe in the power of literacy and giving every child the resources they need to succeed. #TeamNikema was at the Forest Park Library for another Congress in Your Community, connecting families with federal resources. That's how we show up in the #FightingFifth.

Georgia lost a giant with the passing of Larry Pellegrini. Larry was a mentor who helped guide me during my early days lobbying at the Georgia State Capitol. His leadership, compassion, and commitment to equality strengthened Georgia's progressive movement for generations.

July is #BIPOCMentalHealthMonth. In the #FightingFifth and across our country, nearly 1 in 5 adults experiences mental illness each year, yet too many BIPOC communities still face barriers to care. Mental health is a human right, and everyone deserves access to the support they need.

Innovation creates opportunity, and I'm fighting to make sure the #FightingFifth leads the way. Mercedes-Benz's new R&D Hub brings hundreds of jobs and helps position Georgia at the forefront of vehicle technology and digital innovation. That's how we grow our economy and invest in our people.

The FBI's mission is to keep the American people safe, not waste taxpayer dollars to push election conspiracy theories. That's why I demanded answers after reports that FBI agents are being reassigned to Atlanta to revisit Georgia's certified 2020 election results.
