Helping nature heal is our most powerful solution for stopping the climate crisis. Restoring peatlands, native woodlands, wetlands and other natural ecosystems through rewilding helps remove carbon from the atmosphere and cool landscapes, aids water retention and reduces the risk of wildfires. 🧵3/5

Five bison are now at the Castletown Estate in Cumbria 🙌 It was thrilling to see the herd thriving in the landscape. Bison reshape woodlands through their natural behaviours: grazing bark, felling trees and taking dust baths. They open up dense areas, improve soil health and create new habitats.

🪸 A new report from Natural Resources Wales has highlighted the major role that healthy coastal habitats play in reducing flood risk across Wales. The study estimates these natural systems provide around £36 million a year in flood protection benefits. 🧵5/6
