I love being in the Independent Press Pavilion at SDCC. We’ve had the best neighbors the last few years, including the delightful CapyFun. It was a trip watching their giant Capybara wake up each morning. @capyfun.bsky.social

People ask me why the Luigis gather at my table every SDCC. The answer is because the Luigis cannot be contained. And also because of my friend Connor, AKA Luigi Prime.

Sometimes I yell at SDCC cosplayers to stop at my booth so I can enthuse at them. That was the case with this Brody and Quint from Jaws. Brody threw some "chum" on my table. It was packets of Swedish Fish candies. Genius.

Other amazing people like Kat and JC also come by my SDCC table every year. Kat is amazing at hugging safely no matter how sharp her cosplay is. Skills. @itsharleykat.bsky.social

I don't get to see all the cool stuff at San Diego Comic-Con because I'm working. But I don't mind 'cause cool stuff comes to me. Brendan and his daughter Annika always bring the best Star Wars cosplay right to my table. And this mouse droid that Brendan made is definitely the droid I'm looking for.

Grogu looked like he wanted coffee, but the SDCC Starbucks line is almost as famously long as the Hall H line. Sorry Grogu, I had to get to work at my booth. No coffee for you.

The collection of Star Wars booths at SDCC was amazing again this year. I love me some Anzellans, and flipped out when I saw that these were animatronic Anzellans. Hey heeeeeyyy!

LEGO brought their brick A-game to San Diego Comic-Con again this year.

Even though we get early access to the con floor, SDCC forbids exhibitors from lining up for exclusives. This is a hella good and fair policy. It doesn't keep me from seeing and enjoying the collectibles, like these Lord of the Rings statues.

Sometimes we get to the SDCC exhibit floor early enough to have a decent walk about before the attendees-kraken is released. I love this time, the calm before the storm. It's often the only chance I get to see the big name booths.

Many hours of hauling and construction later, my booth becomes a fully formed and operational selling station. And yes, all of that fit into my MINI.

There's a lot going on outside the San Diego Convention Center too. Lots of folks scramble to put together events and experiences in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter the day before SDCC begins.

The exhibit hall is full of people and activity even before SDCC opens for attendees. We setup my booth amidst zooming carts and forklifts. Sometimes I look up and see a friendly neighborhood bucket truck.

Come with me on this journey, and I'll show you San Diego Comic-Con through my eyes. After months of prep and two days of driving, it begins with unpacking the car, hauling the displays and merch upstairs, and setting up my booth in the exhibit hall.

This was my 19th year exhibiting at SDCC. Thank you to everyone that makes this insanely complex show happen; the board, exhibitor liaisons, the volunteers, and the people who work in the convention center. Special shout out to the guy we met who set up the chairs in Hall H. 6,000+ chairs. Respect.

It's the 19th anniversary of the publication of the first Little Vampires book. What started as a white board sketch became a career thanks to all of you lovely people. Thank you so much!
