This week I'm at a conference that has thoughtfully provided a "social battery" badge which you can slide from red to green - it doesn't have a "evening in a darkened hotel room listening to Sibelius" level of recharge, alas #ExtrovertedForProfessionalReasonsOnly
The absolute horror that is @1pmobile.bsky.social's terrible chatbot, summed up in one message
Boring boring post, but Lost Property at Schiphol airport is brilliant. No mystery as to whether your item has been found - you can go on their website and they photograph every item as its logged. Only shame a 1 hour connection wasn't enough time to pick it up on the way back. £60 shipping to UK
Much nostalgia in my high school Facebook group this weekend. My form tutor sent me out into the world with this damned-with-faint-praise opening sentence. Brutal. The "generally" absolutely nailed it. My sense of humour has got me in trouble my whole life 🫣
*Geordie Accent* Only when the Camel and Lars have been eaten, can the winner sit with a monkey (And presumably eat its testicles?)
And once they're done with the camel, the leader of the Moderate Party is done for
I don't know when they stopped pretending that's a touchscreen, but I'm glad they've stopped pretending it's a touchscreen. Sorry, I am a TV presentation geek, I can't deny it.
I feel for the team at Democracy Volunteers, paid staff and volunteers, who gave their time to observe a democratic process and tell us what they saw. I was a volunteer last May. I was very surprised by the levels of family voting in County Durham - this is what I said at the time.
"Which route did you get that on, then?" "Oh just a quick hop over to the Island of Vinted"
Thanks to @markpackuk.bsky.social for pointing me to the Electorial Commission website, where I discover someone wants to launch a political party with the tagline "Working for Sidcup - Someone Has To"
Absolutely love that someone looked at the gap between the gate and the wall and thought "I can fit a Smart Car in there and sell coffee" 👏👏👏
Interesting that this is the first black Friday with native access to price history on Amazon - so it's possible to see how many items do indeed put their price up in the run up to Black Friday, to appear discounted this weekend.
Just the London Pension Fund Authority asking a perfectly normal questionerer
Geekily interesting how two huge media organisations can have the exact opposite interpretation of privacy law / policy as to whose faces to blur or unblur on these stories (Guardian, and BBC)
Today I had to order some roadworks signs, and on the order confirmation I discovered it's an unprecedented time for roadworks signs
The mainline into Euston features multiple graffiti tags saying "I farted in Yoga", and now I'm wondering if Celia Imrie is out there with her spray can of a Monday night?
