Toronto’s skyline is beautiful from Toronto Islands too. I hope the folks fighting the airport expansion win. This is a special place and worth preserving. I hope Toronto goes all in for high speed rail instead.

Here's a photo of a garage in Montréal that was converted to an artist studio/living space. They were able to obtain permits with a moveable steel ramp and doors that would technically allow a car to be driven into the garage. Weird how many care more about homes for cars than homes for people.

Ces résidents étaient tellement fiers de leur grand succès de mobilisation. Ils ont célébré la réouverture de l'avenue à la circulation automobile avec les élus (d'Ensemble Montréal, bien évidemment). NB : la Ville aurait peut-être dû enlever leurs entrées de service en plomb plus tôt ;)

Un bel exemple que j'utilise dans mon cours. Lors d'une consultation publique, les résidents se sont mobilisés contre les saillies drainantes proposées par la Ville lors de la réfection des infrastructures en eau. Toutes les saillies ont été enlevées du plan de construction, sauf aux intersections.

Et oui, Jim Beis avec une majorité écrasante. Ils arriveront à comprendre les le lien entre l’asphalte et l’eau. Leurs décisions ont des conséquences.

Caroline Braun's team in Outremont made their NIMBYism clear during the campaign. I'm surprised Ensemble Montréal made her responsible for housing. As an environmental engineer, it irritates me to see a solvable contamination problem used as an excuse to avoid showing solidarity with the unhoused.

I'm skeptical. The site was decontaminated and used for community gardens. See the photo from the archives of Journal d'Outremont. Of course, contamination is easy to find in most urban environments, including children's school yards. The primary reason is NIMBYism and lack of political courage.

The walk home after Angine de Poitrine was lovely. Although you could be mistaken thinking all of Montréal was at the show, the Mile End was alive with people sitting on terraces watching the World Cup. Summer in Montréal is the best.

I wish I could add green dots in my neighbourhood. This is the state of the Lajoie bike path for kids in Outremont today. Full of potholes and construction is throwing the kids into traffic at the busy intersection. Not a bad idea for the boy to be traveling with two bike helmets!

Frustrant de voir cette question. Il y a TROP de consultations dans Outremont et Caroline Braun exporte son modèle. Des consultations interminables pour à peu près rien. Un peu comme ce sondage mal ficelé. Paralysie. Et ma réponse n'est même pas une option.
