Mrs Charles Rennie Mackintosh = Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh Artist in her own right whose work was revered by her husband. 'Margaret has genius,' he wrote, 'I have only talent' That rose motif we love in Charles's work came from Margaret.Kirsten MacQuarrie is currently writing a novel about her. ❤️

Adding to this, of course, my favourite west coast of Scotland suffragette, Eunice Murray. One of the campaign's greatest orators, they said if you heard Eunice speak about the cause, you'd be instantly converted. Also (ofc) best hat. Go Eunice!

RIP David Hockney. He had an early exhibition at the William Hardie gallery at 141 West Regent Street in Glasgow. A Georgian building, now demolished and a gap site. Locals are militating for it to be made into a pocket park.
