Hello SDCC! Come to the HELLO DARKNESS panel to chat all things horror and how exploring the nightmare of being makes for excellent comics!
Stumbled on what must have been the late great Udo Kier’s final role in S4 of Dark Winds: an aging Nazi with dementia, hiding on a Navajo reservation, egging on his assassin granddaughter (Franka Potente?!) who goes nuts and ends up running his ass over on a dirt road. Ham to the max. RIP King.
Got excited when I saw people posting about Earthbound on here but sadly it’s just about explosive diarrhea not this all-time banger.
Happy #portfolioday ! I try to write one comic for every 100 I’ve worked on as editor and here are a few. One day I’ll balance the tally out!
Forget 250. Only celebrating 50 of this absolute legendary living national treasure.
Love to #stayhydrated so I brought my water bottle to this moderately patriotism-inclined Pennsylvania lakeside beach on July 4th forgetting its adorned with this A+ sticker by @ryandunlavey.bsky.social and my kid sees it and states loudly “SO WHAT DID KARL MARX DO EXACTLY PAPA?!”
Now that Billy Bat’s finally out in English I’m looking for to the Discourse when they get to the later Volumes when things get uh…experimental.
Basement cleanup uncovered these priceless treasures I can now bequeath upon my 5 year old like holy relics.
Noticing YouTube nudging my recs into garbage territory (video games, music, and fitness all algorithmic radicalization minefields) so I’m weaning myself off in favor of more audiobooks while I do chores, dishes, walk the dog etc Gotta protect that sliver of mental health. Next up:
Put a gun to my head and I couldn’t give you a compelling Batman pitch I’d want to write BUT can I interest you in a miniseries about one of his lesser-known villain’s called “Bookworm” whose superpower is he’s a nerd, who finds the Necronomicon in a vault beneath Gotham City?
*moments after you’ve ask the hypnotist to help you stop thinking about making comics ever second of every day.
I love extreme metal bands because it’s always darkest, saddest, grimmest, most beyond-all-light funeral apocalypse gloom audio assault on all of God’s creation but also “hey, our band logo is a little Christmas tree!”
No escape from the crushing finality of capitalism. Not even in the frozen food aisle...
Gonna make my fighting weight just on the way into the office today. Comics better watch out!
