Rather than share my (now incomplete) comm carousel again, I'll instead show a big inspo for Teo in my story. His 'prototype' ver. in my shelved story, actually DID have wings. The artwork for the manga Angel Santuary always stood out for me, so I wanted to use a similarish design 😅 #SummerOfStories

Godzilla Minus One Concluding my trio of Goji books with Minus One, written by the director of the movie himself. This was a good and quick read, nearly identical to the movie. Well, if Minus Zero gets a novelization translated over here, I'll be picking that up too! #booksky

The Luminous Fairies and Mothra A very short novella that later became the original movie. Once again, many parallels to real world happenings in Japan, & thanks to the hefty Afterward (longer than the story!) I never expected to see some major similarities with the Dr. Dolittle! #booksky

Godzila & Godzilla Raids Again A couple of good short reads of the novellas based on the movies. The Afterward was very insightful on the history, like how Gojira in general was based directly off The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, & how these novelizations were adapted for younger readers. #booksky

The bird feeder is very noisy. Every night this flock of peepers stop by to pick the peaches off the top branch. Hope they aren't screaming at each other in aggression, there's plenty for everyone 😅

The Twelve Kingdoms Book Five The return of Youko! This one's a direct sequel to Book 2, & unfortunately a 2-parter, so I need to wait! An interesting concept, as it's not just about Youko, but 2 other girls that had their lives turned upside-down, & the people they meet who humble them. #booksky

The Twelve Kingdoms Book Four This one was still good, but I prefer the previous volumes. Another story taking place in the past, focusing on Enki/Rokuta's POV, when the Kingdom of En's king was an incompetent ruler, creating an attempted coup. Looking forward to vol 5 when Youko returns! #booksky

Somali and the Forest Spirit vol 6 Papa Golem is very angry in this one! So sad to see there's only 1 vol left 😭 Took an actual photo to highlight how the stamp ruins the cover art. Ew ew ew. Should've been a sticker or just posted on the back! #mangasky

The Twelve Kingdoms Book Three I was really surprised that unlike Book 1 and 2 which featured Youko and her journey, this one went back in time to focus on Taiki and his new life, growing up as a kirin. It was nice to see another aspect of the world, & Taiki's view of it all. Good stuff! #booksky

#LGBTQWriteAThon I'll cheat a bit by using my Mememay post, but with different pics! (See Alt Text for more details) I came across both guys after writing Lights and couldn't *believe* how much they resembled Teo and August (after some hair styling/dying). Didn't even need to try and look 😋

Damian Hurley is Elizabeth Hurley's son and a model/director. When I came across him super randomly online, I was like "omg that's Teo right there!" Same age range (early 20s), and I picked this photo of Damian during one of his modeling since it prob is the most 'Teo' I've seen. The androgynous/femme appearance would totally be a match (with how much I've made it a point to subtlety say how not very masc he is), and the slender build is pretty much an exact match. If he had his hair cut a bit shorter, dyed it blond, and wore yellow iris contacts, yeah that would be him! *Looks up height* Oh he's 6 ft 1? Ok maybe too tall :p Teo's only like, 5'7ish.

Patrick Luwis who played Axel Kovačević in Season 6 of the show Cobra Kai. Another I came across random when watching the show and saw his appearance, his height, and his muscular build (when he's shirtless on the beach) and was like "omg... that's August!!" It's another case where a near 30 yr old is trying to play a high schooler, and in August's case he's supposed to look around late 20's anyways, so it totally works. If he grew his hair out just a bit, swept it back, spiked at the end, dyed it auburn red and yeah, that would be August!

It was ONLY a year ago when after 3 decades I finally figured myself out. Still unsure when it comes to gender, but I got way too much stuff on my mind right now, & last year had my head running in circles figuring things out! So I'll use the two I'm *sure* about that best represent me.

Kowloon Generic Romance vol 11 (I love how this cover is a polar opposite to vol 10's!) I sure wish the anime allowed for a couple extra eps! The manga slowed down the climax's pacing, allowing for some addition details. One more vol to go! Can't wait to see the ending in this version! #mangasky

The Creepy and thd Freaky This manga was one of the wildest rides I've ever been on! What starts off as Animal Crossing-like characters telling creepy stories from strange little boxes, soon delves into other subject matter, such as anti-capitalism. My head's still spinning from the depths it went 😅

The Apothecary Diaries Vol 9 This was more of a setup vol, for both settings the characters into position, and where the journey is headed, as it ends as a sort of Pt. 1 in this new arc. A bit slow at times, but there's lots of interesting bits here to hint at what's to come. #booksky
