Cyborg. Brony. Recovering minarchist. Reskeets are endorsements, unless I get embarrassed and disavow them later. PFP by Dacsy!
I guess the brand is Crystal Noodle? And this is spicy tofu noodle soup. The noodles are the glass noodles, translucent and kind of gummy and thin. There's some decent heat to it too, but the tofu flavor... doesn't add much flavor. There are much better versions of this soup. ⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶
But LOOK at it. It has its weapons on the ARMS. Disgusting. A real 'mech design mounts all weapons in the torso, so that hands are always free for punching.
Menraku brand spicy sesame ramen. Not a lot of heat at all to this bowl, and the sesame flavor, while there, is not very prominent. Broth could use a little more spicy and a little less salt. Nothing really wrong with it, but lots of room for improvement. ⭐️⭐️ 🌶
And detailing! I feel like I chose poorly with the cockpit colors. Thug should have been blue, Blackjack green or red, Knight should have been green... but whatever.
Here they are with some layering. Eventually I realized that I was painting 9 battlemechs and not 8. This is fine, I wanted a Clint anyhow (and it would last barely a single turn against Clanners).
Here's the painting process, more or less. I got a bunch of leftover 3D printed 'mechs from a friend, who then challenged me to face a full Clan Star. I combined the prints with some CGL units I base coated while on vacation so I'd have 2 lances to face the Clanners. #Battletech
Finally we have the Clint! Clints are not good battlemechs, and this is little guy isn't actually part of the two lances. I just wanted to have one. Real happy with the paint job, too!
And here we have the last of the Ostmechs, the Ostroc! The Ostwar doesn't count. Pretty simple, and very strong. I like this scheme a lot. And of course we love a raider with lots of lasers and some SRMs, don't we folks?
This is a Dervish! They're supposedly quite common, so I'll need one too. I find it odd that it's both faster and more lightly armored than the Whitworth, which is 15 tons lighter. Silly game! I was skeptical about my ability to do random wedgy shapes, but I'm real happy with this one.
Now we have the biggest bastard of the batch, the very aptly named Thug. Not sure why these models are so rare; it's not in the HBS Battletech or Mechwarrior games, as far as I know, and has no CGL sculpt yet. The paint scheme here is... fine, I guess. Feels like a lot of lost potential.
Next is the Blackjack! I swear I wasn't trying to make a Finnish flag, I just thought a single blue stripe on the right side wasn't enough and... oops.
