There’s people who change your life, that set you on a course you hadn’t expected. You’re one of those people for me, setting my course to Enterprise and First Flight and friendship. Happy birthday, my friend!
#RevolutionaryTrek The Cost of Change Trip learned the ultimate cost of introducing revolutionary ideas into a society when he learned that Charles took their own life instead of living in oppression any longer.
#RevolutionaryTrek The Cost of Change After deciding to reject his people’s practice of the Resolution, Dr. Timicin’s people reject him, including his own daughter. In an episode of incredible performances, Michelle Forbes gives one of the most affecting.
Listen to our talk about “The Aenar” then tell me why I’m wrong about my take on the T’Pol and Trip of it all.
It’s an element from the classic heroes journey. There’s always a mentor.
SEPTEMBER is #TrekExchange, exploring marketplaces and commerce in #StarTrek!
CRUSHER: Washington was a military general, not a terrorist. FINN: The difference between generals and terrorists, Doctor, is only the difference between winners and losers. You win, you're called a general.
#RevolutionaryTrek Revolutionary FINN: Your origins on Earth are from the American continent, are they not? CRUSHER: North America. FINN: Yes, I've read your history books. This is a war for independence, and I am no different than your own George Washington 1/2
My goal in this episode was to implant the ear worm that is Gerald Fried’s score in your ears. Even my kids are humming this theme from “Amok Time.”

Let’s go down memory lane and reflect on 4 past years of July prompts. 😁🖖
If #StarTrek characters were Catholic saints, what would they be the patron saint of? Saru, Patron Saint of Dependability Data, Patron Saint of Curiosity Neelix, Patron Saint of Hospitality Daniels, Patron Saint of Tomorrow
It’s my attempt at recreating Starling’s computer for the monthly prompt.
Una’s plot with Doug and Batel’s plot with Admiral Pasalk are enjoyable aspects of “Four-and-a-Half Vulcans.” Batel is fierce. Una and Doug are silly in a way that makes sense in the universe and isn’t stereotypical.
I share critical takes on #StarTrek because 1) I LOVE the franchise and have high expectations for it and 2) I want any positive reviews of Trek to be received within the context that that I can, in fact, dislike something modern Trek puts out. 90% of modern Trek is quite strong and will endure.
“Four and a Half Vulcans” is worse than I remember. Its treatment of Vulcans, a founding member of the Federation, is cartoonish and ignores the depth and complexity of the Vulcan mind that we came to know thru Spock, T’Pol, & Tuvok. They make being Vulcan a silly punchline. I like silly. Not this.
