Ravenfield also plays host to a number of ongoing projects, including -Fractured Frontier, an original sci-fi setting built for open collaboration -Eternal Revolution, adapting the work of Simon Roy and Naomi Peterson -and my own effort to see the world of Brigador, one of my favorite games, in 3D.
I also like putting stuff into Ravenfield - A silly little singleplayer sandbox FPS made bafflingly versatile thanks to its simple and robust modding tools.
#portfolioday While I can't say I have a portfolio with a straight face, I do make lots of stuff, usually 3D and game-ready these days (vehicles/weapons, animation, environments/levels). Still working to improve and diversify while also looking to make my own games and other interactive projects.
Sketching out more assets Touro hanging out with his friends, Fonk and Moguse
This is a stickup! Hand over all your non-military mechs / exoskeletons / powersuits / etc
Tried doing some quick sketches of what I remember for pre-work practice
The 6.5m version does better with my take on the Abbot 105. Could have it wrong, but the same goes for the Mae Dois, which is just a beefed up M2 (TIDEC boot for scale)
Think I didn't scale it right; had been led to believe it was more around ~9m tall, but sources indicate it's more ~6.5m tall. The latter tends to scale better with weapons but the former tends to "feel" right.
What I been trying to do, though I'm hesitant to get too heavy into polishing the walk cycle in case I find a way to get IK working in-engine. Yet to add particle systems, but implemented sfx ingame. Though the blendtree tends to double them up when steering.
Wanna do justice to this snippet: When on foot, a mech barreling toward you should be fucking harrowing, and how it moves is the first thing you see. For NEP, I imagine that as a weighty, aggressive gait. For Spacers, I picture an uncannily effortless, almost organic stride.
Brigador fanart - Touro mech walk cycle. I think it needs work, doesn't quite convey the sense of weight the Touro feels like it ought to have. Maybe more fitting for something like a Buckmaster. Vertical movement may need to be toned down a tad and more of an "oomph" on contact
Even if not for that, planetary hermit-state thrust into interstellar war with mechs n shit and they're way behind and still trying to figure it all out is a fun concept.
Saw [nationality] Miku is back due to sports and remembered this ol chestnut
Got behind on some environment stuff I was doing, so tried seeing what a Touro would look like up close for some motivation (a bit of animation + sfx work needed)
Correction, I am getting one guy'd, I have been informed that this person has a reputation on the workshop for their hyperfixation on memory usage. But still
Might be getting one-guy'd here, since nobody has brought this up before, but I do also need to get less lazy about optimizing assets. But the old stuff was "babby's first blender project", and the newer stuff isn't super detailed aside from some normal mapping/ao here and there.
Gmod build from 2016: A CzL.1 with a full(ish) interior. Co-op tank crew but in a riveted little shitbox like this could be fun; at the very least, something potentially achievable in RavenM.
[Ravenfield - Citizen One: Eternal Revolution mod] Elite Revolutionary Guard troops dislodge coup forces dug in outside a fortified village. For Man Amplifier shock teams, attrition is as assured as victory. But as the morale department says: "an armored coffin is a fitting tomb for heroes".
[Ravenfield - Citizen One: Eternal Revolution mod] Man-Amplifiers lead the charge across treacherous open ground, as Army insurrectionist forces attempt to annihilate beleaguered troops of the Internal Ministry holding a bald hill. (Concept and designs by Simon Roy)
Oh snap I just realized Ravenfield's 40% off for the summer sale. I make mods for it, go play em if ye wanna or don't if it's not your thing ig iunno I can't tell you what to do I'm not your dad
Fun lil behind-the-scenes bit, that was p much the design philosophy behind Vanilla+. Lotta folks ask what countries they're based on, but they're actually both multinational kitbashes emphasizing silhouettes specific to their team: Blocky and rugged for Eagles, pointy and aggressive for Ravens.
Cooking proceeds. In time we shall all feast on the delicious gumbo (Note: gumbo may contain grobus root)
