Politics and cat pictures. Denver suburbs. She/her.
ROCK CHECK! Last time I visited my parents, my dad showed off his rock polishing machine and pressed this pretty rock on me. He probably knows what kind it is, but I do not.
Said stepbrother has arrived, and while he's not very happy about his crosstown drive to a new place, he's started work on establishing some territory. Meanwhile, my cat is sitting serenely on my bed. No one hissed as the carrier entered the house so fingers crissed.
I like Bluesky, but I'll admit I don't understand the propensity for finding every bad tweet by a known shithead and sharing them over here. Yes, the guy who wrote a pronatalist editorial is a fascist. Yes, the guy who sucks in a thousand ways said something shitty. Yes, I know.
This picture is even cuter without the privacy crop, but I just had to show Ada's happy little face when he gets his hug and his serenade (or in today's case a hug and slow dancing to the record player). He loves his human so much.
Between this and his Juneteenth post, odds are that he's not a vile bigot. His campaign site is right there. Though sidewalks actually are an indicator. I'm sure there are pro-sidewalk bigots, but a lot of people who oppose non-car infrastructure are motivated by a desire to keep poor/BIPOC out.
Ada has shoes as well. But not everyone's shoes. Not his own human's shoes. Just mine. No, you can't have them. They're his shoes now.
I'm sure he hears the neighbor cats getting treats next door. Happy caturday eve to you as well!
The enpurpling of the bedroom has commended. Jasper is taking it in stride.
Bookshelf status: mantlepiece covers are here, I think they cover up the fucked up top bit nicely. My dad has a bunch of plans for some specialty lumber place if he ever deigns to visit me again, but I'm inclined to leave the cloth regardless.
Jasper agrees with all of this and would like to add that boobys are nice to mash with claws.
Well, he certainly still had some teenage mischief in him, but he always managed to look rather elegant while committing kitten crimes!
It's done. Bookshelf II is filled, duplicates have been sorted and offered to potential interested parties, and this genuinely might be the toughest part of the move. (We're hiring someone for the couple pieces of furniture, and Partner doesn't own much besides a few clothes and some cookware.)
Ada has encountered a summer squash for the first time, and he's just horrified.
You may render tribute to the tribble without trouble so long as you avoid the feet and the belly! Beware of his dustbunny offspring prowling under the bed, though!
Bookshelf II has a much clearer access path, and I suspect there will be some feline overhead monitoring of the humans' gaming.
I believe there's a railing path. Jasper is not as inclined toward high-level surveillance as some cats, either from inclination or because his long body isn't as efficient at jumping. Ada, on the other hand, is a regular mountain climber. He may establish a nest up there once he moves in.
One bookshelf down, one more 2/3 this side and meant for the fancy hardcovers, to go. And more full bookshelves upstairs.
The bed tribble loves you. (Yes, you. Unless you're the person shooting off fireworks two weeks before 7/4.)
Partner's statement on whether the moth puts us over the one skull per room limit:
The top piece of my new bookshelf might have fallen off and broken in half, and it might have hit me on the head on the way down, but I do get an excuse to bring in some more purple into my mostly green and a bit blue and purple room.
