Doing some writing (about the Flintstones, OBVIOUSLY).

An old school friend of mine thought it would be ironic and whimsical to hire a bouncy castle large and sturdy enough for us as undergraduates for her 21st birthday party. The “adult bouncy castle” she hired certainly was large enough, I suppose. It also required squeezing through giant inflatable labial lips to get inside. She at least didn’t need to keep telling people how to get to her house – the fifteen-foot-tall jet-black gas-engorged phallus extending proudly skywards from the centre of the castle made for an extremely handy locator.

This is good news, and it matters beyond the ponds themselves. It's a reminder that, as others have said, the horrifying rollback of trans rights in the UK over the last year and change has happened wholly without a democratic mandate. When the people get a say, they demand inclusion.

On Repentance And Repair, by Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg. An absolutely amazing book on the ways in which harm needs to be identified, addressed, and atoned for, and how society's focus on "forgiveness" isn't just irrelevant to that work, it actually makes that work harder.
