Sound on! Time for some geo-scenery from our Utah paleo group’s visit to Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument! Grand Staircase provides a breathtaking landscape of millions of years of Earth’s history written in the rocks. One more reason we love our US public lands!

We’re officially kicking off our 2026 scholarships fundraiser! So far we’ve brought in a little over $18K to help sponsor our middle and high school scholarship applicants! Our goal this year is raising $60K for the scholarship fund. sternberg.fhsu.edu/education-ou...

We are immensely grateful to the David B. Jones Foundation for their $10,000 award to our student scholarships fund! The entirety of this grant will go to helping make sure student applicants with high financial assistance needs will be able to attend our middle and high school programs! Congratulations to Development Co-Coordinator (Grants and Sponsorships) Marjean Cone for her successful application!

Some highlights from our first session of Fossil Prep Methods camps last month! Among other projects, students had a chance to work on a mostly complete Pachyrhizodus fish fossil! Yours of the Sternberg Museum’s collections as well as lessons on molding and casting were also included.
