ok here are my #TADC finale thoughts in full now that i've had time to sit on it. spoilers of course still loved it! i have mixed feelings on some of it. #never kill yourself

- jax's gender identity shouldn't have been kept vague when showing the irl equivalents of them. in hindsight it is blatant that he is transfem with the song "isn't she lovely" being about a newborn baby girl playing after the bow is placed on him, but the fact it's not even alluded to at *all* in the irl segment feels like a complete disregard of that character
- it was *very* unsaid that despite everything being fake, the world, experiences, and relationships are all still real *to them.* and just because it's in a fictional world and they're screenshots of that person in that time, doesn't mean they're any less of a person. this was super unsaid and it should have been pointed out by someone, preferably pomni. kinger alluded to it but pomni telling the crew her feelings about the "realness" of shit would have helped
- jax's abstraction being offscreen was admittedly a bit disappointing. not that i wanted him to be the final big bad or have it be epic, but seeing the abstraction happen in the moment would cement that "oh fuck he's *losing* it" feeling that was building up. you don't need to have the camera focus on him as he transforms just keep it on pomni or something, just have it happen in front of someone and we see that reaction. see the breakdown that leads to it
- caine's return is a bit unexplained and it should at least provide a *little* explanation for how he still remained. like is he hardcoded into the circus? what's going on there.

the song "isn't she lovely" is about a newborn baby girl, which i didn't know at first. knowing it now, and seeing it play when jax was wearing the bow, i do feel like at LEAST it should have been addressed when it comes to jax's real counterpart. like, maybe irl jax has started transitioning and is using she/they or she/her pronouns. that would have been neat! but instead we don't really get that, and now we have one million discourse posts encouraging harassment over the topic
