Barry Clough captured this great shot of a Sand Martin recently. Social birds, like Swifts, they nest in colonies, digging burrows in steep, sandy cliffs, usually around water, commonly found on wetland sites. The tunnels they bore can be up to a metre in length!

Drake Shelduck. Great photo by Barry Yates. The Shelduck nests underground in old Rabbit burrows, in tree holes or in haystacks. During the 19th century, it was persecuted for this habit in certain areas as it competed with Rabbits which were food for many people.
