My niece Maddie Arsenault is the feature comic at a Pride showcase at The Bus Stop Theatre on Friday, July 17. And yes, the poster is accurate. She did once swallow her retainer. I saw the x-ray.

I had a great time at the launch of Brenda Thompson's latest book, Memoirs of a Welfare Mother: Politics, Paternity Tests, and the Old Boys' Network. Thompson got a great crowd for the event, and everyone had excellent questions. The book is 22 chapters, and I read 15 in a few hours. #NovaScotia

Many thanks to the staff at the Fundy Tidal Interpretative Centre who let me loiter on the front step so I can photograph the ruby-throated hummingbirds at their feeder. (The staff know me now). #birds #NovaScotia #wildlife

I was awake early and checked out a few spots, but the Duncan's Cove Nature Reserve was good for birds today! I should have checked it out earlier in the morning, however, it's on my list to visit early next time. Birds: Northern yellow warbler, a common yellow throat, and a white-crowned sparrow

I am on vacay this week and was up and out at 6am to look for birds. Here are some pics. A northern yellow warbler, chestnut-sided warbler, a mallard duckling and its mom.

I was out of the house by 7am to find birds before I went to my riding lesson. I'm certain the birds were happy with the cooler temps. The yellow warbler was singing up a storm. Plus, I saw a ruby-throated hummingbird and cedar waxwings.

Today's birds! An osprey, northern flicker, robin, and American goldfinch.

An osprey spreads its wings as it flies out of a huge nest on top of a telephone pole. Its plumage is a pattern of brown and white and it has bright yellow eyes. Its wingspan is about six feet across.

I finally got to photograph an ovenbird! There were also warblers, including a chestnut warbler at the Jerry Lawrence Provincial Park. #birds

I don't know much about rabbits but is this a snowshoe hare? I saw it on the road to Martinique Beach tonight.
