back in the day Boomerang would run the Harveytoons show and I'd never seen a Buzzy Crow cartoon, so I was always hoping for Buzzy Crow, and then a Buzzy Crow cartoon came on, and suddenly it became obvious why Buzzy Crow didn't air on TV in my lifetime.
that satisfying 'crack' sound as you bust the spine on a cheap newsstand reprint manga volume to get it onto the scanner
4 weeks ago I bought some wildflower seeds and planted them in 4 pots on the balcony, waited, watched, and watered. Today the first one came out
this week Stupid Comics peers into the mysteries of the unknown and follows a team of "ghost seekers" as they crack a six hundred year old mystery and ruin everything for everybody! misterkitty.net/extras/stupi...
Space Battleship Yamato fans: the Yamato represents the Japanese spirit, Desslar and the Gamilas draw from various European military and political figures, the planet bombs are obvious atomic bomb parallels, and the Gamilas drill missile is, of course, a big penis
recently caught up with an anime remake of a popular property that had seen a lot of other animated & live-action adaptations
today I learned that Mikiya "Wild 7" Mochizuki drew manga based on the Styx album "Kilroy Was Here" for Shogakkukan's "FM Recopal." Because, of course!
Mecha-May and Mew-Bot 5000 remind you to always wear your helmet when motorcycling through a hot 80s anime summer! youtu.be/oaUb6A6_wk8?...
Who knew the 21st century was going to be such a disaster? TV 21, that's who! Thrill to adventures in the self-inflicted doom-laden world to come this week at Stupid Comics! misterkitty.net/extras/stupi...
Saw the Worldcupmobile today! Entire body totally covered with Sharpie signatures of fans, etc
what the last two AWA's downtown felt like to me, and I think I said this before, but it felt like a cruise, like an all inclusive vacation weekend. Get dropped off at the venue, you're in a sealed environment designed to drain your credit card. The price point is a hurdle for a lot of fans
BTW right now you can get tickets to Anime North for $70 Canadian, which is (checks notes) $49 US. See you next May, I guess
shout out to my home boy here, fervently hoping bitcoin-enabled AI crypto will magically turn him into someone with a spine instead of a weird passive aggressive puddle o' goo
Did not have Yomiuri Giants towels at the grocery liquidation place on my bingo card for today, but here we are
Yuji Hijiri also did manga about Rod Stewart, but there's no way I can reference Rod Stewart without mentioning the urban legend about him that we all knew was true when we were 10, so I just won't bring it up
