I was going through older creations and I refound this addition to PBTA games, the Wealth stat 💰 I still think it's a fairly interesting #homebrew mechanic, and worth sharing here What are your thoughts?

Wealth

All playbooks start with 0 wealth unless discussed with the Storyteller beforehand. This stat helps or hinders the additional moves Barter and Scavenge. Wealth can be increased at moments decided by the Storyteller, such as a larger sale of property, or a great increase in influence. It can also be increased by the Windfall advancement mentioned on the final page.

Your bonus to your Wealth Stat allows you to buy things within or lower than your Wealth Category without rolling. Each category below gives an idea of what can be bought with this level of wealth, though ultimately what falls under these categories is up to the Storytellers discretion and what fits within the world you are playing in.

If you have a 0 or More Wealth you are able to Barter for the chance to buy something in a Higher Category.

Wealth Categories

-1 Wealth
You have nothing to your name except the clothes on your back, however you are talented at finding what you don’t have. Whenever you need something you must use the Scavenge move to see if you can find it.

0 Wealth
These include simple necessities such as food, water, simple clothing and cheap places to stay for the night. Depending on the game you are running this can also include simple melee weapons such as Knives and Baseball Bats.

1 Wealth
These include luxuries such as nice food and drink, clothes, and a clean place to stay. This can also incorporate firearms, medicine and second hand vehicles, depending on the game you are running.

2 Wealth
Expensive food, drink, fancy clothing and a comfortable place to stay. Depending on the game you are running this can also include hard to come by Weapons such as Flame Throwers and sensible vehicles.

3 Wealth
This includes luxury places to stay and state-of-the-art vehicles, this could range from a sports car to an airship. Depending on the game you are running this wealth could also give you access to top tier Medical Treatment.

Wealth Moves

Barter
When you want to get something of a higher wealth category than you could usually afford roll 2d6 + Wealth to convince the person you are trading with to sell it for less.
You can only convince someone to sell something for 1 Wealth Category higher than you can typically afford

On a 10+ They sell you one item that you want without issue.
On a 7-9 They will sell you one item that you want if you do something for them as well. Work with the Story Teller to decide what the favour is.
On a Miss You gain a -1 to Barter checks until the end of the current Arc.

Scavenge
Using this move you can pick up things that can only be under the 0 Wealth Category. This can be helpful if you have a -1 to Wealth or if you're currently somewhere where buying is not an option. To Scavenge Roll 2d6 + Wealth.

On a 10+ You find nothing and take 1 Harm in the search.
On a 7-9 You are able to find what you are looking for, but it comes with a hard choice. Talk to your Story Teller to discuss what that could be and the consequences.
On a 6 or Lower you find what you are looking for without issue.

Advancement Option: Windfall
Instead of picking an advancement from your play book you may pick this instead.
You have been granted a boon of wealth in whatever form you wish it to take.
You may increase your wealth stat by 1.
