Parking and local politics, mostly (and some dad-type jokes). President of the Parking Reform Network. Grist 50 Fixer.
Yesterday, Vancouver, WA, USA adopted a comprehensive code that eliminates parking minimums citywide! Vancouver joins at least 111 cities in the USA to have done so. Welcome to the club!
Gross. This isn't trying to reach across the aisle to get serious policy done. Pratt is a dangerous demagogue, just like Trump. There's a type of person who claims they want "competence" and then will engage with the world's least serious people. You gotta wonder what the real motivation is. 🤔
Surely it's great for renovating the reflecting pool to drive a bunch of SUVs over it.
It's ok if this is what you like, but this dude Chris is basic AF. Keep it if you want it, but let's change the rules so people have some choices for christ's sake.
I went to the old bad place for a minute and immediately saw alex jones interviewing eddie munster.

If I was going to an Easter gathering today I would suggest we have a quick prayer and then read this out.
Read an article about Waymo passing school buses in Austin. First, I agree with Dr. Missy Cummings, waymo should stop operating around schools during pick-up drop-off until they prove it’s fixed. Second, half way into the article it turns out that it’s probably a human’s fault…
I'm not sure who I respect less, Trump or the dopes who voted for him.
This email from Councilor Olivia Clark (is she on here or is it too liberal?) pissed me off. The pivot from “sorry ICE assaulted you all” to thanking the police who shamefully stood by and did nothing is clumsy and jarring. It’s like she had to balance a cop critique with a cop complement. 🤮
Everyone who drives someone to or from the airport should pay a fee - not just ride hail drivers and passengers.
