UC Irvine Law was elected to the Order of the Coif, a prestigious national law school honor society. Membership in the Order of the Coif is reserved for law schools that demonstrate the highest standards of legal scholarship, academic rigor, and commitment to the development of the legal profession.
Yesterday the Uniform Law Commission (ULC) approved four new acts, including the Uniform Transfers to Minors Act (UTMA). Prof. Emily Taylor Poppe served as reporter for the Drafting Committee for the UTMA since the Committee's establishment in January 2024.
The emerging network of UC Irvine Law graduates working in academia reflects many of the qualities the Law School has emphasized since our founding: interdisciplinary thinking, public service, intellectual rigor, and engagement with pressing questions of law and society.
Founding Faculty member, Ann Southworth, has been elected to the American Law Institute (ALI), an independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and otherwise improve the law. Congratulations!
