Text reads:

Nilas is still asleep when Veles wakes up with sunlight in his face. He lets out a groan, half-heartedly lifting a hand to block the light from his face, as he slowly gets up. As he shuffles past to the kitchen he glances down at Nilas, who is laid on his side and unbothered by the light, snoring with an occasional twitch of his ear. Funny how even part human, werewolves make convincing dogs if you can ignore the size of them. Not that this one is very big in the first place.

Veles's thoughts are interrupted by a light scratching sound from his back door, carefully stepping back around Nilas to get to the door. Not a very alert wolf either...

He slightly opens the door, just enough for a small tabby cat to slip through with a chirp, happy to be inside until it stops in it's tracks. Quietly shutting the door, Veles watches the cat puff up slightly, and for a moment it doesn't do anything but stand there. It seems to realize the big beast of a dog it's looking at is asleep, when it crouches to the ground slightly to make its way over and investigate. Amused and already knowing how this ends, Veles leans back against the door as the cat inches closer, it's head bobbing up and down to try and get a better idea of what it's looking at. When it gets close enough it raises a paw slowly, leans in and—

A yelp from the hit, and Nilas is up, clearly confused and startled, until he hears a hiss and looks down at the cat puffed up with it's ears back. Nilas lets out a whine as he backs up, slowly laying back down. His ears are pressed flat, tail tucked close to his body, and he crosses his paws over his snout to protect his nose from another strike.

Veles snorts.

"You're seriously hurt from that."

Nilas glares at him with huff.

Veles walks back to the kitchen, but not before insulting Nilas one more time. "Bleeding out on my porch from arrows in your flank, and you're being dramatic over a swipe from a little kitty."

The text reads:

Werewolf au where Veles finds Nilas bleeding on his back porch and he has a cross bow pointed at him but when Nilas tries to back away from the silver with a pathetic whimper and falls back down and shuts his eyes like he's expecting Veles to shoot him already, Veles stops and sighs.

Nilas's ears slowly flicking up at the sound of Veles putting his crossbow down then opening his eyes to Veles suddenly kneeling by him to look at his wounds and he says, "Right mess you got yourself into, kid. Well...I assume you're young. Not that I can tell a wolf's age just by looking."

Nilas just huffs through his nose, ears flicking back and makes a noise of annoyance, and Veles would stand and say, "I can just leave you on my back porch if you got any complaints about the service, pup." Nilas would huff again but look away, while Veles moves back to what he was doing, and says, "That's what I thought. Lemme see what the damage is and I'll get a med kit."

As Veles was pulling some arrowheads out of Nilas, he'd murmur to himself more than to Nilas, figuring that Nilas was aware about this kind of thing, "Well, you're lucky no one hit you with any silver. Unlucky that you have to stay in this form until you heal up or you'll reopen the wounds wider."

Nilas flops on the floor with a groan, like it was a chore to him less than an inconvenience.

"Don't bleed on my carpet, mutt."

Veles cleans Nilas's wounds up, picks up his supplies to put them away, and leaves to wash his hands, leaving Nilas to do what dogs do. Be nosy.

Despite his wounds he'd end up sitting up a bit, feeling a bit better after Veles cleaned him up paired with his faster healing as a wolf, and look around the house. He'd eventually spot some knitting that Veles had up on a side table (lonely middle aged man needs some hobbies after the divorce dw abt it) and wills himself to trudge over and bite it to bring it down to the floor.

Veles comes back with water as Nilas is nosing himself under the blanket, and stops short.

"What are you doing?"

Nilas freezes with the blanket gently held between his teeth to finish pulling it over himself, like he hadn't thought this far ahead.

He'd let out a short whine and drop the blanket from his mouth, ears flicking back as he lays on his paws, tail wagging slowly. He was less apologetic and hoping more that Veles would pity a skinny wounded wolf.

"You got a lot of nerve thinking that I'd fall for that when you're old enough to know better than to take someone's shit like you own the place." He'd falter just a bit and murmur, "Least I think you are."

He'd set the water down and grab the blanket, almost yanking it off Nilas in a huff, and walk out of the room, returning shortly with a quilted blanket and throwing it half heartedly on Nilas.

It'd land on Nilas's face, a yelp of surprise being heard from under it, and he'd shake his head a little until his nose stuck out, and huffs.

Veles plops on the couch, and kicks his feet up on the coffee table littered with papers, empty mugs, and a full ash tray. He grabs the tv remote off the side table and says "Before you ask, no I don't quilt. That shit's best left for grandma's with more patience than me."

Nilas makes a noncommittal noise and lays his head down on his paws after fixing the blanket as best he can without hands, pretending like he didn't care, but really he did wonder. Weird guy knitting and sparing wolves while seemingly being irritable and apathetic at the same time. What else does he get up to in his spare time?

He thinks that he's clearly a retired hunter just from how he carries himself and having a crossbow instead of a gun. Which makes it even weirder.

His thoughts are interrupted by snoring from the man, looking back at the couch in disbelief that he fell asleep so quickly. Whatever it's not his business to judge a man who helped him. Even if he was nosy.

He settles for a nap, not worrying too much about Veles killing him in his sleep when he had ample opportunity to put him down before this. That and the guy didn't seem like the type to rouse from his sleep once he passes out.
