Author, artist, interactive stuff. Runs betonmond card games. Hopes you are mostly happy. She/they
Another team built the installations, they did an amazing job. Here's a giant model tooth to house a word search, to represent the process of finding ancient pathogen DNA. Look at this weird beauty, no digital screen, all analogue. The presentation is so beautifully "Look Around You", I'm in love
Experimenting on some cotton fabric, I'll collect different marks and colours and make a quilt eventually
I got a particularly nice dress in the Toast sale which I figured might be my new Respectable Outfit and literally everyone who sees what it actually looks on here says "Arthur Dent" and also tells me to absolutely keep it though
New Decemberist album arrived, it's a beautiful double vinyl and YES it's got the special Illimat card. I love that game. Look it up if you like card games.. It's flawless
Cat School by @roserobbins.bsky.social is so good. Big recommendation for parents, teachers, librarians... A book I would've needed as a child to encourage me to think about what school should be, and how to navigate friendships of any neurotype. It's so funny and caring and USEFUL.
Made a poster of a collaborative playlist and I'm pleased with how the lettering came out
Also I need to fit this one properly but it was just too hot today to drill holes in the wall. So I wedged it in place with some spare timber for now. Too hot to use the desk as well
I did draw plans before this installation. The tap is especially important for correct vibes
New sink day!!!! Getting a bathroom sink instead of a cloakroom sink. This thing is finally going to the tip (where someone else can still pick it up if they want a tiny tiny sink)
Half my flat is okay for to portable AC the other half is this. 30C at 65% humidity. All shutters down already. I need to get some fixed units fitted. Really fed up today.
Got a cute new radio alarm Bluetooth speaker that makes voices sound especially nice. Roberts petite!
One of my favourite things is an espresso with a plate that's big enough to put a piece of chocolate or an ice cream mochi on the side without melting it
I needed to make artwork for a poster real quick while tired and busy and asked everyone involved to send me a body part, printed them all out on my mum's slightly broken printer, put this little friend together. Happy
I found a book from the 70s that my mum used to use in schools. This is basically the attitude we need to children and ALL media (and yeah WE NEED TO KEEP MAKING COMICS WITH THE KIDS because it's awesome and good for them) Translation in alt text
I just discovered that when I was eight years old I tried to turn my own book collection into a neighborhood library. I made a stamp from styrofoam and stuck cards into the books with electrical tape and numbered them all.
Getting there with this thing. The wheels are parked in blackboard paint so during storytelling workshops I can change them around in collaboration with the kids and families.
I have an actual job to do today but I decided to fix a bit of old gear that was clogged with decades of dust and hair because I need cheering up. Fixing things makes me feel like things are worth fixing. Here's Doris the Dirt Devil, running smoothly again
I'm building a thing. That is, right now glue is drying and the thing is weighted down with books BUT hopefully tomorrow I'll finish the thing.
