Today I attended the launch of the Revenge Porn Helpline's Annual Report. Since 2015, the helpline has reported 450,000 intimate images of which 90% were removed. Recently, we've seen generative AI fuel the rise of non‑consensual image sharing. As this tech evolves, our protections must also.

On the eve of the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence, the American Museum in Bath is celebrating the occasion in its beautiful grounds. Always worth a visit! It’s also currently exhibiting one of the few original copies of the Declaration.

I met with British Land, owner of SouthGate Bath, and the Shopkeepers’ Campaign to discuss the impact on retail of recent business rates hikes. We need reform to create a fairer system and promote investment and growth. Couldn’t resist popping in to the iconic My Small World while I was there too!

Meta has teamed up with Kylie Jenner to try make their AI smart glasses stylish. These glasses are increasingly being used to film women without their knowledge or consent, with these often degrading or sexualised videos then posted online. These aren’t fashion. They’re a threat.

As part of the Parliamentary AI training I visited a new data centre today. Operating data centres is complex. They need a highly trained workforce & lots of energy. The cost of energy is an important factor where these data centres go, but we must keep the opportunities and jobs here in the UK.

Portage has seen demand soar for their SEND support. With referrals up 63% in the past year and waitlists across all their services, many families are missing out on vital pre‑school help. If the Government wants to fix the SEND system, it must back the brilliant work charities like Portage do.

Tesco has provided 500 schools with over 15.7 million portions of free fruit & veg since October 2024. Their fantastic programme helps thousands of children get more of their 5‑a‑day. It’s great to hear that from September, the programme will expand to over 1,000 schools!

Between 2017 and 2024, over 4,000 greyhounds died or were put to sleep and more than 35,000 injuries were recorded across the racing industry. No animal should have to suffer for sport. Thank you to @animalaid.org.uk for meeting with me to discuss how we can put an end to this cruelty.

Food waste produces 4x more emissions than the entire aviation industry. I met @thefelixproject.bsky.social in Parliament to hear how they're taking surplus food & delivering it to communities. In Bath, they've helped serve 242,156 meals - every one made from food that would have gone to waste.

When I raised the issue of nightlife filming in Parliament, the Government pointed to their work on non-consensual intimate images & deepfakes. But nightlife videos are different: unlike other online abuse, they fall into a legal grey area making prosecution hard. I’m fighting to change this.
