so originally! I mistakenly thought that the Voice of the Just (the purple pendant earring) was used for the Banquet (the bloody banquet post-ARR) by guests in order to enter the event. This was actually for the lv14 (or 15?) quest where you attend the memorial service in Ul'dah. In that same chain of quests, you also attend Limsa and Gridania ceremonies respectively, and they all require some form of the player wearing a specific item in order to attend. However, the Lominsan ceremony makes you wear a pair of nice shoes, and Gridania a mask- only Ul'dah specifically has a piece of fancy jewelry that is custom made at the goldsmith's guild... this feels very extra opulent which is hilarious and fitting for Ul'dahns.
Additionally, it seems that there's a new earring designed for guests (as a clearance pass - it's a security measure wherein even when you pick up your earrings from the guild, you need Momodi to open the box for you, so it's a bit of a hassle)... meaning that the royal banquet post-ARR probably has a new design as well. In-game though they don't make you wear anything, IIRC? Man, if they did then i'll just. Close my eyes and pretend it doesn't exist don't @ me ok

Also the first banquet you attend in Ul'dah, the earring is called Voice of the Just. This one I am going to call... "Winds of Fortune", since the earring is in a fan shape. The gems are made of garnet & the rest of the jewelry is gold, of course.
