I was not planning on a four hour road trip today, but this baby needs help. We found a rehabilitation and rescue that takes birds of prey. They’re located in the big city though, so here we go!

The pup came car shopping with us today. The salesman loved him. He turns 14 this year. In Idaho, you only have to be 15 to drive, so he’s excited. 😆

Our first pack walk. We didn’t go far, but it was a success. Both the kitten and the pup will be getting lots of treats. 🥰

The pup got to explore a new park this morning. The adventure has him tickled pink.

I expect the kitten to sit when I snuggle him in my arms, like the pup sits when I or my hubby carry him. Somehow instead the kitten transforms into water? 🤷🏻‍♀️

The kitten’s cat tree arrived! It will be the salvation of my houseplants, and Max loves it already.

That’s wonderful of you to do. May I ask if you have advice for the feral clowder in the garden? They won’t let us come near them—I’m working with them on it every day—but I want to deworm them. The problem is I can’t manage what bowl they eat from.

We had purchased this in case Maximus had fleas (which he doesn’t). I wanted to mention it because the vet said to PLEASE NEVER use this on your cats. Frontline is the way to go for fleas. The vet says he dislikes Hartz for nearly everything.

The kitten’s first car ride on our way to the vet. He was the best boy, didn’t even cry when he got his shot. His mighty ears have no mites, his lustrous fur has no fleas, the vet techs were impressed with his good behavior. I’m a proud hoomama. *Vet’s advice below*

The pup and I are going on an extended walk so he doesn’t feel left out when we leave with the kitten for his vet appointment. I’m mitigating sibling rivalry like a pro! (Or so I think… don’t burst my bubble 😅)

Beware of foxtail grasses, especially if you have fur babies. Once dry, the barbed seeds easily burrow into the skin, migrate to organs, cause nasty infections and serious health problems.

That’s a real fine pineapple my hoomom has. It would be a shame if someone… bapped it, ate it, pounced on it, sat on it, smashed it, dug at its roots… A real fine pineapple, indeed. #cats #kittens

Progress has been made! I’ve been putting Max’s leftover food in the outdoor clowder’s bowl so his cat family smells him & knows he’s alive and well. When I turned the corner today to feed them, Mama Cat meowed *before* hissing. Max’s brother is laughing at my efforts, but we’ll be friends someday

Measured the kitten for his first harness. The tiny tyrant is not quite 9 inches around. 🥹 Measured the pup too so he wouldn’t feel left out. He’s 14 inches. I hope he isn’t too disappointed when the kitten outgrows him in a few months… Just look at those monster mittens!

Everything feels right in my world when he smiles. The pup after his second walk of the day. Bonus, the kitten is sleeping so he can relax. He’s been wonderfully patient with that little ball of energy.

Golly… it’s moments like this when I’m extra glad to be a gal. I’m going to miss this kitten energy when he grows up. Max is going bonkers today. 😽

Mission: Baby Proofing is accomplished. Bookcases have been built and filled. Cubicles line the inventory room. This kitten is somehow in all the places doing all the things all the time. Now all is secure.
